They can sell us to their advertising companies, saying "see, we have 99999 members" - of course not mentioning 99900 were banned because they criticise the mods, criticise the website sponsors, talked about how to block ads from this website to enjoy the website better, talking about how one should not do piracy yet mistakenly labeled for talking about piracy and all those sort of silly stuffs. And by deleting accounts, it should also delete ALL posts that he / she ever posted. Of course they don't want that because most of the users they banned were very active in the forum and they could lose thousands of posts. Of course we won't miss Candy's or pante's posts now, but a few months ago, it would be strange if suddenly the posts count in TA get reduced by 40% just because they delete their account. The forums will look empty and no company wants to advertise here. I'm not sure how long my post will be here before they delete it, lol.
Are people really banned for criticizing website sponsors and how to block them? Candy isn't banned btw, she just left.
No, not banned, just infraction. I remember there was this one guy who told people about how to block the ads so the website is ad-free and he got infraction. If you keep getting that you can get banned. I'm myself surfing all websites ad-free on Safari, not only everything loads faster, but also cleaner and neater Candy 'just' left, but we can all guess why
She was angry over the horrible reception we had of her poem she posted in a thread mourning the death of her sister.
Well I looked at candy's profile and I thought she'd come back, before realizing it's the middle of July (how come it doens't say my post was edited)
i remember hearing something about that in another thread but i didn't know who it was about, makes sense she left though, ide be pretty angry myself
pante got banned because he made a whole thread whining about how bad the mods are and how hodapp threatened him. At least I think that's why he got banned. I never knew him but that thread was a little ridiculous
... a thread about a dead sister in an iPhone gaming forum... While death of a loved one is tragic and all, this is one of the last places you come to to mourn. A bad reception is to be expected when you're posting it on the internet. None of us knew her, none of us really felt anything. She should've been crying out there with people in thereal world. All of us, as sad as it is, probably couldn't of cared less. It's impossible to shed a tear for someone you didn't even know existed until they kicked the bucket, especially if you just came home for a 9 to 5 job, want to kick back, relax, and read a dark poem
i would think that would just get a warning, i mean the threads under other discussion are so random, at least it had something to do with the website, its like the feedback section, but just discussing the mods, oh well i know hoddaps been threatened before by the avenged guy and stuff. so they probably just got tired of it all i know but still i mean it says "other discussion" im not saying the people who said mean stuff are in the wrong but they could have probably just ignored it im not taking sides or anything, just saying i understand why candy got upset, but i understand that she should have expected people to say something back that may not of been nice or whatever, i get what your saying though
that thread (alone) was not why he got banned. In general, the reason people get banned is this: Person: ABCD Mod: Please stop doing ABCD Person: ABCD Mod: Stop doing ABCD or you'll be banned Person: ABCD Ban Specific cases may be different, but that's the general outline anyway. arn
i get what your saying arn, he got several warning about doing one thing and then repeatedly kept doing so?
