A very sad day today. Carrie Fisher passed away this morning from a heart attack. Very few female characters and their actors were so loved as Princess Leia/Carrie Fisher. #

Very few characters and their actors, period. No need to qualify it.

RIP Ms. Fisher. You will be sorely missed.

I am hoping it was not due to her trying to over-diet to be thinner for all the people who complained about her weight in the last movie.

Females with MI at 60 is pretty unusual with out some significant risk factors.

Drug use and self medication might play a role and maybe ECT isn't that good for a human heart. RIP

Edit: "During ECT, heart rate and blood pressure increase, and in rare cases, that can lead to serious heart problems." - I despise that shit and she must have been really desperate to use it. Sounds more reasonable than some diet causing the problem.

I read an interesting interview in the Herald Tribune from 2013 with CF.
She says she was bipolar and had drug problems.

ECT is a very effective way of dealing with chronic depression. Unfortunately, it gets very bad press from movies like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I am guessing she likely had a relapse from her prior drug problems. Cocaine in particular is a very significant cause in young people suffering from MI.
