Check out P90X. It's a really well balanced workout program that requires close to no equipment. A chin up bar and some normal dumbbells.
I run cross country and play soccer, and I'm also short, but P90X worked wonders for me.
I'm not very quick at cross country (best time is a 21:19) but you should have seen how toned I got after starting P90X.
Sure, Im not the toughest when it comes to lifting weights and I'm not the quickest in long distance running, but I look pretty dang ripped and I have excellent twitch muscles (in sprinting and such)

If you can afford it, P90X is the way to go.
My suggestion? Tell your dad you want to do it with him. Worked for me! ;)

    School.
Actually, my parents got P90X a few weeks ago and I had starred it. It just seemed like the whole body workout wasn't right for me, and 90 days is a little longer than I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, Tony is a great motivator and basically a virtual trainer, I'll have to look into it again.

I know there's probably other people at your school who go to the gym and workout but it's bad for your body at that age because you're still growing.

Just relax for a couple years and then try.

Forget PX90, save yourself some time and go with pectoral implants.

My advice: Don't get your hopes up. 30 days to get ripped for a 15 year old is stupidity. Focus on next year's homecoming. Get a small schedule in, something that isn't too hard (1-2 mile run with arm excersizes since you want basketball) and play basketball a lot. Then work your way up to harder stuff. It's really hard to get a schedule started, IMO it's the hardest part of working out.

When I was 15 my only regular workout was my right wrist.

But seriously, just by eating watermelon at night instead of ice-cream and crap, and then starting P90X, it helped a ton. You don't have to do it in order though. I don't enjoy the plyometrics asuch, so I only do it occasionally.
If ya don't like that days workout, skip it.

Ah to be 15 again, things were so much simpler then.

A copy of the Daily Sport was so much cheaper than every failed relationship since, and I didn't have to guess what it was sulking about or pretend to be interested in the inane crap it talks about.

    EDIT

For our colonial brethren ,I wasn't cracking one off over sportsmen, in the civilised world we have boobs in our newspaper.

Here is a teen workout appropriate for people ages 10-17. Contrary to myths you might have heard, working out IS good for teens and it will NOT stunt growth. Here are seven great reasons why teens should work out according to the American Academy of Pediatrics:

    1. Increased strength
    2. Improved long term health
    3. Reduced bodyfat - eliminate obesity and get 6-pack abs
    4. Increased cardiovascular fitness
    5. Increased bone strength
    6. Improved cholesterol levels
    7. Improved mood
