If you want to maximize your gold bricks, there's a few ways to do it. Check the news to see how much gold bricks are (usually around 3kish) and if you have that much gold, you can punish to have a chance at melting the gold into a brick. In addition you can send your character into the arena. Sometimes just ATTEMPTING to arena will give you a brick. I believe if you win you get a brick also. Aside from that the game will automatically pick up bricks at a slow pace.
Notifications have completely stopped for me. What gives? Not sure when this happened or what caused it. iOS 8.1 update? I don't get them for Tiny Tower Vegas either.
