I REALLY like the arena. However it seems that the weapons/equipment your hero has doesn't affect it at all and it's just completely random who wins. Which ruins it.
6th death. Won both arena fights. (Won all 4 fights in total now) Philosopher stone turns an artifact into gold brick.
What ruins it is that it takes 15 minutes, is like watching paint dry, and the person who remembers to check back 12 minutes into the fight and cast heal usually wins.
Yes, I'd use the arena more but I don't have time to sit around waiting for the appropriate time to click heal. I did try this morning: hit encourage and healed the opponent. Fail. Still, can't complain: 5.1% gold bricks. I had a run on philosophers stones which pushed me up into the top 100. That's now dried up so I'm being overtaken by all the arena whores.
This game still owns if anyone was wondering. http://toucharcade.com/2010/08/31/godville-a-month-later-still-the-best-game-i-dont-play/
On my 10th death now. And my hero hasn't upgraded his equipment in a while... not like it does much anyways.
Still on my 9th death here. Equipment upgrades have slowed down; sitting at a range of equipment between +22 and +31. My hero has been upgrading his skills more often; he now has +9 steel finger and +7 instant evil eye (both combat skills). I also got a couple of diary phrases approved by the mods: "Nature called. I told her she had the wrong number." "In a sudden epiphany, I realized that time is an illusion; lunchtime, doubly so."
I have got to stop jinxing myself like that. 10th death. Lost a crapload of cash and plummeted on the Creation leaderboard. Bugger...
I got a question about special abilities. First of all: sheesh! My stupid avatar just now hit level 15. And I got Godville the first day and check it at least once a day. Just my luck: my avatar is a stupid noob. Anyway, so I got asynchronized swimming. The game says the more your char uses the ability, the better it gets or something. But you don't actually activiate it, right? You just wait for the lil' sap to somehow get into a situation wherein he needs to swim erratically, right...?
Just got my third skill: Inept singing, another combat skill. Yeah, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 2nd chapter. (Or 1st episode of the BBC series, whichever.)
What level do you have to be to vote on stuff?? And how many votes do you need in favour to make a thing be added??
