What did you expect? I can't think of another game that has more movement than this. Dodging is practically replacing walking. It is the same exact thing, except its doing a two for one, which means simpiler controls for the touch screen. Assassins Creed - you can move during combat (walk/roll) but you can't move while you are placing attacks/executions. RYSE - you can move while in combat (walk/roll) but you can't move while placing attacks/executions. Dungeon Hunter - you can move during combat (walk) but you cant move while placing attacks. Prometheus - you can move while in combat (roll) but you can't move while performing attacks/executions. All these games use the same attacking mechanic and they have the exact same amount of free movement. But this game actually gets rid of the v-stick to have one less button, and yet it does not restrict the player one bit; just with a different animation. You can still dodge, move enemy to enemy, and if you want just dance around them. So it has free movement, sick executions, plenty of armor/weapon variants, sick magical abilities, great voice acting, and what may seem to be - a great story. Plus, that was just a game demo, not even at beta. You may have just probably been blinded by the rolling mechanic. Seems like you just saw the rolling and assumed you were limited. Its currency, most games have that these days. Probably used to buy equipment, upgrade, and put points into skills. Most likely has iAP for those people who prefer to pay to speed up some process rather than just play and enjoy the game. Which gives the devs more money to improve the game for those who play it like it was meant to be played.
they didn't really get rid of the stick. its just performing a different action now...rolling! which is not bad. i'll just rather be able to choose if i want to walk around or not during battles! but like i said its not a deal breaker but i'm sure 75% at very least of the fans of the game would've prefer to be able to move without having to roll during a fight.
There should defiantly be a way to view the scenery in the world in a game like this. (A typical floating joystick camera for instance) Do you guys plan to add intros to the various places we will be? Just please vividgames, make multiple weapons that aren't just the duel wield swords that you can upgrade, add some sort of magic artifacts like in GoW and add a challenge arena. The challenge arena and multiple kinds of weapons besides the duel swords would make the game last a lot longer and would add ALOT of replay ability to this game.
I made a mistake haha. I posted a video that was already posted So are there only double swords for weapons?
I just wanted to remind you guys that PAX East is happening this weekend in Boston. If you're there come by Booth #1036 for a hands-on playthrough of the Godfire: Rise of Prometheus demo! Regarding your questions about the game - I'll be answering them as soon as possible. For now I would highly suggest you visit the game's official website. There's a couple of brand new screenshots and details regarding gameplay that you should definitely check out!
In the shirt time I played I used a shaild and a sword then used duel blades I don't know if there are any other weapons at this point, but armor and weapons are upgradable. When I talked to one of the developers.
Yes and no you can explore the level you are at but there not very big, at least on the demo version I played.
