So from the thread I see the truth might be: either, the game doesn't live up to the hype. Buy when it drops to a buck or three, maybe. or, most posters on TA are IAP-paranoid and nitpicking when it comes to mobile paid games. Hmm...
I'd like everyone to remember that the game offers a lot of extra content, including more difficulty levels for extra challenge, new items to discover, and more achievements to unlock, as well as the competetive and endless Survival Mode. You should definitely give everything a go
So i purchased the game this morning (Italy) and i'm playing act 3. GAMEPLAY: Pretty solid, could've been better. COMBAT MECHANICS: Good, combat is not slow, maybe animations, but i can say that there are different combos that you unlock throughout (hope i wrote it good) the game. GRAPHICS: Awesome, but we already knew what to expect after Real Boxing graphics.Just very good. FRAMERATE: Real bad on my iPad 4th,like 15-20 fps all the time,i'll let you know framerate on my iPhone 5s. 8/10 IMHO By the way,i was playing with a PS4 controller.
If anyone was expecting Godfire to be the "be-all & end-all" of mobile gaming, then I'm sorry for them. That said, put aside the hype and "IAP-paranoia and nitpicking", the game's a perfectly playable, infinitely replayable, gorgeous and fun slice of awesomeness. Nothing more, nothing less.
How long is this game exactly? I was watching a replay on youtube and the player unlocked hard mode after just under 2 hours of gameplay. Is the game that short?
Yes it's about 2 hours. But after you finished the game you unlock two different difficulties and there is also a survival mode.Go on and buy this game, you won't regret it.
I think I will give it a miss. Not least because this sort of hack-and-slash game isn't really for me, but because I still have a few other games I am plugging away at (battle heart legacy, lords of water deep). It's not that cheap in asian currency, and I don't see how replaying the same game 3 times (at different difficulties) counts as additional content. The gameplay also looks like clumsy.
You know that Infinity Blade takes a shorter time than that to complete your first playthrough right?
The game is really good and fun to play,go check my review at page 15 if you want. Also remember that more chapters coming soon.
I think IB1 took me 5-6 hours, but perhaps that just speaks for my skill But more importantly, unlike IB, Godfire is not built around the idea of continuous (potentially infinite) playthroughs, beyond unlocking the additional difficulties, and the combat mechanics are much less refined than even the first IB, and can be mastered far more quickly. I care little for the price of the game. Taken out of context, as a few hours of entertainment Godfire is most certainly worth the asking price and more. In terms of immersion and presentation, far more. In replayability and depth, compared to hundreds of other similarly priced iOS titles, I would not even spend a dollar on Godfire. In relation to other graphically intensive third-person action titles, Godfire is notched at the very top. And so on, depending on frame of reference. I just don't like short, easily mastered, quickly picked up and forgotten games in general
So basically don't spend $6 on this and wait for it to drop to $.99 or free? The way this game turned out reminds me too much of 2013: infected wars, and I'm guessing everyone will forget about this game when implosion releases.
Nice, but not as good as Wilblood. Animation's a bit jerky on ipod5. Graphics good but not great. Can be a bit 2.5D at times. Decent game. Bit repetitive.
This is why most devs don't offer premium games and we get non sense freemium garbage with timers instead...
@ Vividgames: please what about Retina Graphics on A7 devices? I'm sure they can handle it. The game looks blurry and jagged on my Retina Mini. Kindly add this feature please.
