You expect a mobile game to be 10-20 hours?? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of it being a mobile game? With that said, really looking forward to this one!
Lol the purpose of a mobile game isn't to make it as short as possible. There are plenty of 20+ hour games for ios that are perfect for both short bursts of gameplay and hours and hours of it. DQVIII possibly being the biggest in the whole AppStore.
True, but DQVIII was originally a PS2 game. In fact, I'd say *most* of the really big (20hr+) games are ports. KOTOR, Final Fantasy I - VI, FFT, etc. It's not a question of a mobile game not being playable for that length of time. Just when you're selling it for $10 at the top end, compared to a $50 console release, you simply don't have the money to justify the time it will take to create. On the othet hand, if it sells well, it's far easier to update it and add new content, rather than gambling that it will do well enough to justify the time, energy and money from the off.
I'm sure they didn't set out to make it as short as possible. With a game like this, I think 7 hours is a perfect length. Hack n Slashes tend to get old after a certain period of time. I don't think the Devs should be punished for making the game 7 hours instead of 10-20
I don't really care about length of games all that much as long as they are complete within themselves and don't rely on dlc's and stuff like sims.Anyway mobile games aren't defined by length but rather by convenience of pulling them being playable is all scenarios. The game looks quite promising to me,just not sure about how good the combat system is,I just hope it's not a one trick pony mindlessly repetitive like 99% games on mobile,Though it does look like a quality game.Animations specially look incredible.
Are there any types of weapons besides duel swords? I read that there may be a two handed sword and a sword and shield.
Hmmm God of War had so many different types of attacks. It was like playing Marvel vs Capcom with infinite/air combos and weapon changing. I loved the purple sword from GOW 1. This game has some incredible graphics, but I'm not sure that button mashing two different attacks will be engaging enough. This really looks like a re-hash of "hero of Sparta" (gameloft). I'm happy to see progress, but it doesn't look like it'll scratch any itch for a GOW on ios.
You're basically asking if this game runs choppy on apple's flagship device, that apparently hasn't even reached its full potential. Answer: it will run better than anyone without a 5s.
But tasm2 and gta Sa do lag like hell on my device even old ps2 game dq8 does they were all unplayable to me I didn't even buy dq8 because of that. For me lag is game breaking,So my question stands can anyone with a 5s put him impressions here? p.S feels like I've wasted too much money on getting a 800$ device which fails to play terribly old games at 30fps,I look at my vita and then at my 5s and I can't help but think it's been a huge waste of money.either games run poorly or they have crap graphics and gameplay,I might as well sell it and get a ps4 and a 3ds,It may have all the power in the world but when it comes to practical gaming it's total crap of a device,All those specs are just pr BS,none have translated to anything meaningful.forget about console quality graphics when it can't even run 10 year old ports,And all of it on a so called flagship device.
Ever heard of Doom and Destiny? It's a JRPG that only costs $2.99 and has 20+ hrs of story and 20+ more hrs of extras and side quests!
That's another game that was on consoles and PCs before being ported to mobile, so they presumably made their money back already. Also, the graphics on that game are MUCH simpler. I'm not suggesting that makes it a worse game or that games need super HD graphics to be fun. I'm just pointing out that it costs a lot of money to create the graphics for every area in a game like Godfire, so it's not reasonable to expect it to have a huge world when it only costs $6. Console games with this level of graphics typically cost 5 to 6 times as much. There's a reason indie games like Doom and Destiny use such simple graphics, and it's not just because they like that artistic style, it's also because it's a lot cheaper to produce.
gameplay impressions: its slow but you get used to it... may be (i think its beacause of the length of the game, dosen't feel like a technical problem). its short but there's replayability if you dont mind the fact its repetitive, it looks really good, bosses are frustrating, not because they're tough but because you have to wait every time till they complete their patterns. doesn't have any paywall so far...story isn't that present but when it occurs its well done imo... overall its a cool game, nothing like what i expected from the first gameplay trailer but still good.
