Just got level 5 on normal. Been fairly easy up to this point, and that's not a complaint. Still somewhat challenging. However, the first two enemies on the bridge slaughter me after just 3 hits and my weapon is doing hardly any damage at all. There is no healer in sight. Anybody else have this problem? I returned to the previous level and while still do-able, I found it much more difficult than the last time I played through it. A lot more enemies spawning and enemy attacks seemed more powerful. I also noticed that a new finisher is implemented into the game I haven't seen before. Another interesting note: on survival mode in the first arena, once I defeat 15 enemies, no more enemies reappear. Anybody else having this issue? Was the game updated somehow? I noticed on the App Store an update was issued Nov. 19th and I updated it then, but that was the day I purchased it. Now that I've gone back and started playing it seems changes were made.
Just installed this again after learning it had MFi support. The controller does make it A LOT better, though I can't believe the developers still haven't fixed the combat movement and targeting mechanics that people have been complaining about. The constant rolling around is ridiculously annoying and the fact that you can't target specific enemies is maddening. Those two things really affect the experience in a very negative way and prevent it from reaching its full potential. Seeing as those two mechanics are pretty much fundamental for a game like this, it actually makes it feel like a tech demo more than an actual game. It's very disappointing, to say the least. But on a positive note, they did fix the low res graphics, and it looks absolutely gorgeous on my iPhone 6. Not sure how long I'm going to keep it on here though considering how frustrating the fighting is.
You need to understand that the devs have no intention of fixing anything because nothing is broken. That is how they intended the combat mechanics to be. Im sure it's perfect the way the devs want it to be. However... It is exactly how you said it in your second sentence in the quote above... They are WEAK mechanics. Not broken, just lousy mechanics that made a very promising game lacking in terms of gameplay.
That's why people should not buy games on the promise of free updates. I regretted spending my money on this game. Where are the last chapters? If you want a great hack n slash experience buy wild blood. Godfire's popularity is due to the fact that it TRIES so hard to be a competitor to GOD OF WAR
It says that at the bottom of the developer notes. Also, android got exclusive content, but why do that when you know no one is going to buy it on android?
Meh... They did add a few of those last July it seems. I wonder how it would take for them to add more content. I like the game enough to rate it a 4, but the weak targetting mechanics leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The no-move has been somewhat acceptable since most of the combat is auto-gap-close, auto-targetting that it becomes a button mashing brawler type of hack n slash to me, but it's still a bad mechanic. LOL
Having a problem with the game crashing on my iPhone 6 Plus everytime a match the picture puzzle pops up....... I'm on iOS 8.1.3
As far as I've seen, there isn't really any pressing reason to buy any of the IAP in the game. It appears like some of the best stuff is only from the IAP shop, but it's not like progress in the game is really based around that stuff. Imagine if an iOS FF port happened to have some option IAP that tripled XP gain or something. That wouldn't really invalidate the rest of the game content, would it? I'd be interested to see what the max values for the IAP-only armor and weapons are, at any rate.
Playing with an MFi controller the lack of combat mode manual movement sorta makes it feel a lot simpler. I still prefer free-movement during combat, but the surprising thing is that i still keep playing this after 3 playthroughs already.
There are IAP-only weapons, but no way are they needed to complete the game, not even in the most difficult mode.
This game went f2p as well? Off topic: remember when they said real boxing was a limited time sale? Haha
