I agree with that, however i also hate threads like this where one's honest impression is being countered and it ends up being a non-stop posting of the same points from each side like they were in a debate. Tis the intarwebz, so this was pretty much expected, but still. To summarize this thread... A: it has flaws, but i love it. B: it looks good, but overall horribad. Then A and B end up in a stalemate of how they could explain their "opinion" better.
It's smooth on 5s and looks good. Impressive graphics, but not the best ive seen....close but no cigar. All assets run without any performance hiccups. The "slowness" mentioned throughout the thread is due to the animations and inputs and how that effects the gameplay.
As promised, I will try and address some of the issues and questions that have appeared on the forums Sorry if I don't touch on them all at once, or that I don't quote someone by nickname. There actually is a reason, explained in the dialogues. Also, she doesn't live there Thanks for the feedback! I'll pass this along to the design team That is not true. While there are IAPs in Godfire, you unlock 90% of the weapons available in the game by discovering them in hidden chests and for defeating bosses on various difficulty levels, and progressing in Survival Mode. Thanks for the kind words We definitely plan on supporting the game with regular free content updates. As you can see in the game, we plan on expanding the story with more chapters, as well as some awesome Survival Mode arenas. Regarding the weapons - I cannot say anything specific about that right now, but I guess you can figure out the answer Plus I'm pretty sure our team has even more cool ideas to shake things up In regards to the claims about the combat system lacking depth - on harder difficulties mastering all the different attacks and combos becomes very important, with some attacks focusing on a single enemy, and other having a wider range, able to hit more enemies at once. Some weapons have new sets of heavy attack combos, as well as Titan's Wrath attacks, which combined with mixing and matching the various perks lets you create your own play style. And if you think Hard and Immortal difficulty levels are tough, just wait until you reach the higher sets of waves in Survival Mode!
About the game lack of variety in environments, no physics, very limited moves for fighting, no jumping. Bosses do all the same thing. Very boring and repetitive. Just very little reason to want to keep playing. No variety in enemies. Different enemies, much more varied moves, jumping. It just is not ready for prime time.its really just a beta game really. Unfinished game. It should never have been released in this form. It needs excitement and atmosphere some music or better music. Slow motion. Maybe it was by design but it should have both fast and slow moves because if its supposed to be tactical then rushing and speed and surprise attacks are part of being tactical. Ambushes would be nice. I'd send it back to the drawing board and start again or just release it as freemium because for the asking price it's just not worth it or even a price drop to $3 because your offering a very short game with very limited moves, not giving the best weapons with the price and expect us to jump up and down about it when there's just no variety I gameplay and it gets boring quickly. The marketing and cut scenes made it worse because you made everyone think it was a God of War clone on ios and so it had to live up to impossible standards and hasn't.
The game looks crap compared to the trailer. Low res display (it isnt in retina display) and the character models are 50/50. The game does have alot of slowdowns/freezes
Sounds amaizing!! # I really hope you guys are able to make some more chapters besides the upcoming two where you can go and find new weapons and good stuff! I also think it would help the game ALOT if there was more types of gameplay besides just fighting. Like riding a menator like an endless runner for a bit, or you pilot some weapon and take out waves of enemies. Those are just ideas off the top of my head. Idk if this is asking too much but I would think you guys have a desent budget.
Alright maybe I'm being too lenient but after playing flood of crappy games it certainly seems like a very good game to me.That 7/10 is a 'mobile' gamingwhere the average joe is happy playing angry birds and temple run. There are people on this site like that so I guess for them it's certainly a 7/10 or even 8/10.If I had to rate it amongst 3ds and vita games I would give it a 4/10 easy but this is mobile gaming we are talking about where anything that works is an instabuy whether it's same the same runner no 23293947 or a laggy and unplayable novelty of a games like tasm2 and gta SA which runs at 15-20fps and are still somehow playable and heralded by critics as 'incredible' experience,Sorry If I come off as a little agitated but this is the way it is. It's almost amazing how people have lifted their standards for this game but crap like rival knights where gameplay is a single tap motion whre you can't even say for sure whether you'll land a hit or not gets away having zero gameplay mechanics because of good graphics but this game is considered a failure for not being upto par with GOW but still is a full fledged game with actual level design and voice acted cutscenes is somehow a failure.None of it was aimed at anyone particular person it's just the general vibe this thread gives off. In short if this game is a 4/10 for you guys then crap like Rival knights is 0.5/10 for me.
Too short Just when I started enjoying the story, the story mode ended! Too short for such a price tag. Gameplay wise, the combat, although a bit slow, is perfectly suited for touch controls. IAP is non-intrusive. It was never thrown into my face & the game is well balanced, you can easily unlock all the stuff that you want without paying a single penny for IAP. Act 8 & 9 are coming soon but what the heck, I will have to download 1GB again after the update is out. Developers, flesh out the story, add another 4-5 acts.
Don't know to get iOS version or wait for Vita's. I'd rather Vita than iOS Please release it sooner on Vita.
Bought this game the moment it came out but I can't even play it because it crashes within 3 seconds of opening iPhone 5s iOS 8 Beta 2
Apart from the top tier weapons that you can only get by IAP. The argument that IAP is "optional" is based on the "option" of either buying or not buying. The IAP would actually be "optional" if there was another option available for obtaining those top tier weapons. I'm sure that if the top tier weapons were unlockable eventually through playing the game, and that the IAP was just a short-cut for the extremely impatient, most of the anti-IAP complaints would not occur. Meanwhile - cut-scenes that can't be skipped, particularly the intro before every survival session. Please add an option to not have that intro play every time we press the replay button. Thanks.
Thank you! That will be much appreciated! Any chance you can fix the bug where the survival mode isn't unlocked when loading a cloud save (with it unlocked) on a different device?
erm...any response about the horrible graphics (low res textures, aliasing, almost non-existent anisotropic filtering, etc) on A7 iPads would be nice^^ Thanks!
Hey vivid games will there be a fix for those of us that have the iOS 8 beta, I can't play this game cause it just crashes
Since iOS 8 Beta isnt official yet, i dont see why the devs should update the app for that, since iOS 8 could still change much before the final release. That'll be double work on something that isnt official yet. Of course that's just in my point of view.
