Yep. It's just an introduction at the beginning of the game (well, at least where I'm up to), but at least you're doing what you're doing for a reason.
The gameplay reminds me a bit of the game "wonderboy in monsterland", one of my favorite 80ies arcade game. instabuy.
This looks like my main purchase of the night. Looking forward to 10pm (CST) I appreciate the early adopter sale... that made it a no brainer.
Hah...I'm afraid you're gonna be disappointed. When I said "exploration" earlier on, I was referring to the fact that each level has 3 gems and 2 chests that are well hidden throughout the levels. It's not one large world, but rather your typical bite-sized "mobile" levels that unlock one by one in the menu. Oh, and it's nowhere as hard as Dark Souls, nor does it have that difficulty level.
I should have explained more, a level based metroid-quality platformer with a medieval theme? Not expecting the dark souls difficulty, just the setting loosely. I really generalized with my first question haha
Stayed up til midnight especially for this, knowing my luck lately I'd not have been surprised to find it pulled before I'd been able to get it lol, I can sleep now it's safely on my ipad haha
Its just an 8 bit platformer that's all but nicely done. The controls for ipad I find ok but would prefer to be able to move them around a bit but that's just me. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. Good not great or awesome. Worth the purchase and no IAP is a huge plus. The graphics are the best for a retro game I've seen so don't let the graphics hold you back. My issue is the lack of being able to move around the controls because they feel a little cramped with my large fingers which affects gameplay. For games like these adjustable controls are a must.
Have a question on the controls, A button should just shoot? B for jumping only? my version has the dude jumping on the A button and intermittent sword strikes????
Did you change the default controls? Maybe you placed the buttons too close to each other. Try a different control set up.
I don't know about that...I just 3 stared ever level pretty easily playing Mikey shorts using touch screen. Roll on 9pm!
R, yes, changed the buttons so more like a staggered pad set up, will try your suggestion...............thanks
Totally disagree. Platformers are my favourite as they work so well on the App Store. I've got many and I've completed any of them. Easy to control
