Oh wow, I played the heck out of the game but never noticed on speed run levels that the faded out clock is in the pause menu. For those that haven't found it, it's to the right of where it says "Game Paused". Once the clock is enabled on any speed run level it will be there in all the other speed run levels.
Lol This feature needs to be more prominent. How about directly going to the level with the timer on if you double tap the quest from your home? Result with triple jump btw in screenshot
Werewolf Boss Guide Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel No specific items needed! The basic strategy for his knight form is to back off whenever he moves towards you and watch for what he does. He has 3 attacks in this form: 1) Green Slash: step back and attack as soon as he finishes. 2) Ninja Stars: learn the distance and you'll be safe. 3) Flame Slash: he will charge his sword and release a wave of flame. Jump over him while he's charging and attack his back! When he is down to 50% health, he will transform into a werewolf. His hitbox is smaller than he looks but it's big enough to hit you when you don't move and he stops. He has 2 attacks: 1) Double swipe: keep out of distance then take a couple of stabs at him 2) Fireballs: Easy to spot. Jump over him while he's charging then slash away!
To me this is yet another example of why iOS gaming is so good. A cheap game, great gameplay, lots to do, great graphics, a small filesize and again such a cheap game for the amount i've played this game. Top marks to the dev
I own an iPad2. Will you guys convince me to buy this game? The control scheme is what making me hesitate.
Yeah it's stuff like this that restores my faith a little in the wild west approach to the gaming market that Apple has taken. There's a lot of room for a dev to come out of no where and do well even after their first game got relatively no traction (and it's a good game despite the tilt controls). Last I looked Goblin Sword was #17 of all paid apps and #8 of all Games in the US appstore. This is what, week 3, and it's hanging on even with all the iOS8/iPhone6/6+ apps clogging the top of the all paid app charts. I made sure my kids also knew about this game and the two that still have ipods both have enjoyed this and continue to. That to me is a huge key to this market. Us, the vocal minority that actually care about games on iOS enough to post on a small message board dedicated to it and tell people about games but when a kid gets a game, they reach so many more people than any of us do through friends at school and on social media. I gotta think that eventually can turn into good money even on paid apps. It plays perfectly fine on the iPod Touch 4, 8 GB model. Probably the worst of the near modern apple devices for games. The controls are some of the best in platforming on iOS. I think there's a little bit of issue when the buttons aren't lined up, but the default controls worked perfectly on my 4S. If you like platformers that are challenging, have hidden rooms, stuff to collect, weapons to switch, mega man style bosses with patterns to figure out, achievements (including a few speed run achievements that really are top notch amongst any games... and I own a lot of speed running games)... honestly, you'd be a fool to pass this up. This is that rare time when something seems too good to be true... yet, read through the thread.. it's true. If you love this genre this is amongst the best games in it on any platform.
I own an iPad 2 too. iOS 7 at the time of playing, spent 30-40 hours on a platformer in the first 2-3 days which is a lot more than I played in the last 3 weeks, which means it was so good I actually found time to play unlike previous games (and I own quite some). Controls can be frustrating at time, I won't lie to you, because of some minor issues with the hitboxes and how big they are and how they sometime overlap but the dev said it is getting fixed and I personally didn't find it a gamebreaker at all, on the contrary, I had little moments of frustration for this. If your coordination works, you should be fine, if not, you will train yourself a bit and it will be fine. I'd say it's totally worth it and you're in for a ride with action, adventure, looting and very nice looking visuals.
Played most of the levels on an iPad 2. No issues whatsoever. Currently stuck at 3-15 and 3-16. Just one tad too tough for me at the moment.
It's just that due to the size of my iPad I'm afraid it might be uncomfortable to reach the buttons. But I guess I have convinced myself to convince you guys to convince me to dish out a buck
Alright! I love this game! You guys should have told me that buttons can be freely positioned The lack of story puts me off a bit, but pixel art is amazing and so many loots! Got a question to ask, can you triple jump? Some chests seem to be impossible to reach with double jump. Unless I miss the hidden doors of course Also, do armors make any differences?
Yeah, the buttons can be moved but you gotta be careful about the overlap when they aren't aligned just right. Seems like this hasn't been an issue for you, so if your config aint broke, don't fix it. You don't need triple jump to reach anything. Everything in the game can be done with the default double jump. If you can't reach something, then there's likely a hidden path you have to find. Armors are just decorative... and many of the better looking ones (IMO) are given out free in treasure chests. Same for weapons, the best ones in the game are the freebies later on. So stick it out with the default equipment as long as you can. Oh, and the lists to buy stuff can be scrolled... so touch and scroll the list to see how much stuff there is to unlock. Anything without a price is part of the treasures to be found in game. A tip about spending coins: Spoiler Save all the coins up towards the achievement for 10K gold. That'll make it a little easier to resist the low level weapons and maybe even you'll find a good mid range weapon before blowing gold. If you try to do the 10K gold after the game is over, it'll take grinding.
Yeah I notice that the responsive area of B button is somehow larger than A's, so unless I tap exactly A, my tap tends to be recognized as B. A bit annoying, but I can cope with it. Thanks for the tip. I bought the gem boost pendant, thought it might help increase the yield.
I have noticed that sometimes my sword strike makes me jump, and there's no butter on these fingers...but I don't know, anyone else notice this?
