This might have been asked already (I couldn't find anything with a forum search), but what is a good level to complete the 'beat a level without collecting gems' achievement, please? Edit: Nevermind, I figured it wasn't about the level as much as what relic to use ;-)
Try Forest level one, two or three. I got the achievement on one of those, but those levels should be easy enough to dodge enemies and coins that are already placed.
Awesome news. Thanks for posting it. It's good to see the dev have enough success to want to push forward with new content so soon after launch.
Here's the companies website, twitter and Facebook: http://www.gelatogames.com/ https://www.twitter.com/gelatogames https://www.facebook.com/gelatogames As a tip to the dev I went to their website page for Rocket Warrior and clicked the link there to the AppStore and bought the game. After watching the trailer it looks like a hidden gem.
Dark Wizard Boss Guide Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel It's a lot easier than you think! You can use any weapon but it's easiest with a sword that has a vertical attack: Shadow Blade, Wave Sword, Cutlas, Dragon Slayer, Flamberge, or the Demon Blade. If you don't have any of those, I recommend at least using a weapon with a 2-star range rating. You can use any relic but the Cursed Ring will really cut down the amount of time you'll spend fighting the boss (I did it so fast before, the boss died and bugged out before he could stop chopping and do his first nova). The Dark Wizard always starts with a series of chops. Let him align with you then take a baby step forward and attack. You can keep attacking like this until he's moved just short of the width of the main platform. If you don't have any of the vertical attack swords, just run around until he does his next move. His next attack is a nova. He flies to the center of the room and unleashes blasts of energy always in the same 8 directions. Simply step to his side and don't jump. Follow him immediately when he flies to one side of the room and stand underneath him to avoid the 3 moving pink orbs of raining pew pew. If you get caught in between, double jump over the orbs towards the boss and jump to attack him. The wizard will destroy the bridges at about 75% and 30% health remaining. Even if both are gone and he spawns the pink orbs, you'll be safe standing at the edge underneath him. Repeat all this until you've destroyed him! If you want the good ending, Spoiler equip the holy pendant during this battle . Dark Wizard Speed Kill Just equip a cursed ring and take baby steps with each attack. That approach is pretty cool. I gave it a try but couldn't really make the tiny steps forward quite that short without getting hit. Still, overall technique is the key... once you can avoid the three main attacks he does is an easy battle. Like classic boss battles in platformers, they are hard until you figure out the patterns.
Finished 2-16. It was glorious! My final run, when I got everything, was also the first (and only) run where I didn't take any damage. Felt right. That would be a nifty (and very very hard) accomplishment - clear every level without taking any damage.
Would be cool if we could sell off old unused weapons like in most other games. If there is a way, I don't see it? even 1/4 the cost maybe
Game was excellent... only minor "issue" I had was that I completed all the quests and finished game, except collecting 10,000 gems. I can't just not complete a game where I have all BUT one quest/gamecenter achievement left, so this meant quite a decent bit of "grinding" which felt completely unnecessary?
Torches Are the torches in Forest Levels 2 and 4 part of the 10 that have to be put out in Quest 7? I noticed that after the torches are put out and you complete the Level, they are lit again if you go back into that level. Thanks
Any torches count. So you can replay the same level a few times if you want since they do lite again. It adds up just like the enemy kills quest. EDIT: I finally finished 3-16... but I messed up on the second treasure chest so I gotta do it all over again. Ha! Well, by far it's the most challenging level in the game but playing it slow seems to help. I think a few more tries and I'll finish it. Then all I'll have left is buying a few swords and that 10K achievement (which I'm going for the 10K before I spend any more).
This is exactly where I'm at. I have no idea how many gems I have left to collect, but it seems like after completing every objective/achievement I would have collected more than 10,000 gems. Unless this means you have to have 10,000 gems in your "bank", but that doesn't seem very logical. Some sort of gem counter or something to keep track would be nice. Other than that I've thoroughly enjoyed this game!
I think the 10k gems is in the bank. Whatever the case I'm going to just keep playing for that and If it completes before I get to 10k then cool but I'm not expecting it. A lot of games have the achievement to have some amount of currency in the bank. So it's not unusual. Ultimately it's a lot like getting a platinum trophy in a PS3 game. Earning them usually takes a lot of extra stuff and only a small percentage of players ever have the patience to earn em.
