From the small time I've played it (nearly completed first 'dungeon' :/) I can say this games pretty good. Very nicely polished as well. I'm using the dragon pet and a holy sword I found. Later on il go back to do all the levels for their gems and chests that I missed. The hidden spots aren't a problem- Random Heroes has trained me for this
Really enjoying this game, the difficulty is just right. But I have one question... there is one achievement, 'Put out 10 torches', which I cannot get... I have come across the torches, but how do you put them out?? Thanks in advance
I have a slightly different q, it seems odd that even if you don't defeat a boss eg the wharewolf you can still move on to the next level ?? Or is this a glitch?
That level is the special level you unlock if you collect all the crystals in Chapter 1. It does not require you to beat the boss as there are no crystals in the boss level. This should clear this up.
Am I right in thinking some of the chests are only reachable with triple jump enabled? If not, I'm pretty stumped how to get to some of them.
I haven't played Chapter 3 yet but all treasures in chapters 1 and 2 can be found with the normal double jump.
Is there another control scheme, like virtual stick? I remember playing with similar controls in Random Heroes and it's not very enjoyable on iPad.
No, it's not. I don't know about Random Heroes, but in Goblin Sword I was able to play through the first two chapters with the default (and I literally mean default positioning) controls. If I can do it, you may be able to do it too (I used an iPad 2 which I hate it for its shape when playing for long periods of time - feels like going through your skin).
Don't think that's true. Some of them are easier with it equipped, but the only place where you have to have a relic equipped is Spoiler the final bonus level .
All chests and crystals can be obtained without any special relic Spoiler except for the last secret stage but it isn't double jump .

The thing that always annoys me about custom controls is somehow getting them in the exact spots I want them. And the buttons actually being able to be dragged into each other's touch zone. And not seeing their touch zones (this is being added here). How am I going to get them pixel-perfect? Why can they go so far off screen that it doesn't make sense? How about an option to not allow them in each other's touch zones, and an option to not allow them off-screen? Problem solved, pretty much. And some games (but not this one) lack an option to put them in the default positions! Argh! The jump button was too far left for me (and then the attack button had to move with it too), and the direction arrows too far right, so I went and tried to get them "exactly" correct. Seems like I have it working well. Although I'll feel better when the touch-zones are made visible in the options screen. *cough* On a more positive note, the game seems to be good. #
Swordigo has more story, this has more collectables. Controls are bout the same for both. Graphics, simple. Do you like retro or 3d. Both games are fantastic and if your a fan of either, you should probably have both in your library.
Once again, I feel immensely stupid for missing that one crystal. I tried jumping against that wall, as if there was a hidden alcove above the ground, but I must have forgotten to try simply running into it. Ugh. Also for those saying otherwise, you don't need any specific relic to beat 3-16. It just makes it much, much easier. Spoiler Without the Pyro Vest, you take three hits in the first lava pit and two hits in the second one. All you have to do is find at least one heart anywhere in the stage and you have enough life to beat it. The Phoenix Pendant, Mythril Helmet, and Heart Ring all pretty much guarantee that you can get through the stage, but it's possible with any relic except the Cursed Ring.
