Fact, 379% of people will buy an Android Fact, 835% will not buy an iOS device God, I hope this and the other Android thread die soon. These are slowly becoming as troubling to read as the comments on Engadget threads. Hopefully we can turn these posts into discussions about experience, and not random percentages rattling off spec sheets from Google. All this needs now is a ,"but mah droid can make calls huurr dee durr". And thanks for the screen shots FK1983, it was interesting to see the graphic comparison.
The Droid X is ridiculously big. Pretty much screws you over if you ever consider wearing jeans. I have average-sized hands and every time I grasped it I felt like I might accidentally drop it. Went with the Incredible. Specs are about the same, so it's whatever. Thanks for the help, guys. Just gotta wait for the shipment with my actual phone to arrive. It's ridiculous popular where I live, apparently.
yes they do. search en gadget for the article.. i think its there i saw it mention. chris. here you go was lifehacker: http://lifehacker.com/5588884/enable-the-android-market-when-trying-out-android-on-your-pc
heh thats funny.. that was the way they were going before the ipone came out it seemed.. ( i think the movie was making fun of it in that clip ) i remember having to buy a last year model of a ipod before the touches came out cause apple was making them to small for me. laughs chris.
Breaking news ! "Trusted sources" brought the word that Sony was working on an Android 3.0 smartphone equipped with a PSP controller ! This would make complete sense. http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/11/exclusive-sony-ericsson-to-introduce-android-3-0-gaming-platfor/ Engadget mockup guess :
hmm interesting, would be a trip if sony ported it games to android. even tho i have to admit im getting burnt out on all these dang rumors from these tech blogs. latest rumor i read on ipod is: the 16th will be apples ipod announcement thing if im to believe the tech blogs. ( its like 70% of the stuff they blog about is rumors.. "trusted source" "inside scoop" from someone in... etc etc.. ) /rant chris.
http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/13/google-calls-oracle-android-lawsuit-baseless-says-java-goes/ i do not know enough about android to know if orcle has and merit for this suit or not.. but i can tell you regardless of the outcome the open source community for java.. which really pushes java is not happy.. oracle has shot them self in the foot with this i think no matter who wins.. and if google wins.. id think the community would use dalvik id imagine instead of waiting for updates from oracle.. sometimes you have to wonder about corporations motifs.. im not even get into the whole conspiracy with larry being friends with jobs.. chris.
Oh. My. God. This phone is amazing. While the iPhone 4 is great, I love the feel of the Android OS (uses HTC Sense, might make a difference). The screen's crisp and responsive, the Marketplace is actually pretty dang good for everything but games, and it's a darn sexy phone. Per month, I'm really not sure. I know I have a 250 per month text plan and a mandatory data plan (which is close to $30, I'm guessing), and then the 700 minutes my family uses. So greater the $30, less than $50 is my estimate.
watching boondocks on adult swim, they are bashing the iphone. found that amusing.. i do not care about any cell phone, iphone or android i love my ipod!! heh. chris.
Considering the leap I made phone-wise, I'd say the joy is pretty much being able to check my facebook (albeit on a ridiculously limited app) in a single attempt. But yeah, I'm loving it. Lots of flexibility, smooth UI, and every app I need is free. Lovin' it.
The new budget Android phone on the block would be the HTC Wildfire. It'd be a good phone if it weren't for its gawd awful screen rez, seriously HTC, QVGA? I'd suggest either the aging Hero or the Hero's successor, the Legend.
I'd take the Xperia X10 Mini pro. Otherwise definitely the Wildfire. E: BTW, I have my Galaxy S for 2 weeks now. I don't really have lag (which is a problem with the Galaxy S, but the next update (september) will solve it), so that's good. I think the screen and camera are fantastic. If I compare my iPod to my Galaxy S (showing the same pictures) I'm stunned. Seriously, it's f*cking great. Only colour blind people will prefer the Retina display over a Super Amoled screen with lower resolution. If you haven't seen it for yourself, you should really check out the Samsung Wave or Galaxy S. I also like Android very much. I think it beats iOS with a lot of things, except for the Android Market, it doesn't have any cool games in it (the Rage game at 60fps would be awesome on Android, I'm actually thinking of getting an iPad for it). It's also a bit (A BIT) more complicated than iOS, but on the other hand I have, for example, much more stuff I can change in the menu's. Android is much more customizable than iOS and once you have found the settings, widgets, and apps you like you will definitely love it. I know the iPhone 4 looks better, but the Super Amoled screen just owns the iPhone 4's Retina display. Oh and the Galaxy S has a faster GPU and CPU than the iPhone 4. Actually, the iPhone 4(and iPad) uses the same CPU+GPU, but it's slightly modded and the Galaxy S is faster.
Have you tried the X10 mini pro? It might be a little small, as I have quite large hands. The Wildfire's screen seems quite crappy according to many reviews.
