That was a bitter lesson for me, too. Come on, almost every high rated app has been updated to work with 4.xx. If two-man-teams can do it, why not Glu? Their freemium stuff is something I can live without.
This is really disappointing. I really enjoyed this series. Like someone else said, I will remember this the next time Glu releases a game.
Runs on iOS 5 Hrm. On a whim I installed the iPhone version of Glyder 2 on my iPad 2 with iOS 5 and it now appears to be playable. I just shot Glu seeing if they might rerelease the iPad version. Here's hoping. Edit: Damn. After playing a bit It's still buggy, but at least I can fly around for a bit now.
You know, How To Train Your Dragon is pretty similar and available still. Kinda slow, IMO, but you might wanna check that out. I dunno, or not. Just an idea.
And they probably have a contract with the film studio that won't allow them to just let the game break and remove it from the app store. The Glyder thing, that they did the same thing with Beat It!, along with their freemium direction ensures that I will never download anything from Glu.
Just chiming in Glu had decent games the stand outs were of course glyder, glyder 2, and beat it. I personally loved Glyder 2 and Beat it for the game play they had. It was really fun for me and kind of different. I think someone took over Glu,axed all their previous games and tried to make the most profit by switching to eesh freemium. I have never bought any other glu game or play for that matter since then.
