Hey Frosty, is this auto fire or are you tapping one button to jump and one to fire in dpad mode? Which control are you favoring?
Hey Cyggy, auto fire is on for the better, jumping between enemies while avoiding some that come straight at you while pressing another button to fire while also moving left and right could be a little bit too much and detracts from the fun, in my opinion. Glorkian Warrior is very action packed and there is a lot to kill and many things going on screen at once. It will be suicidal to have to worry about shooting too. I favor the DPAD but the Boson X-similar one is very good too.
Thanks for the reply - can't wait to play this. Just what I needed for the weekend! Roll on midnight!
Woah, from American Elf fame? From one comic geek to another, "Welcome!" I'm definitely buying now...
Thank you for the vid, Sanuku! I dunno why... but I thought there was going to be some actual platforming in the game. Still looks good...
SyntheticVoid, platforming comes in the form of movement and jumping (avoiding enemies from all directions and evading some bullet hell) and some floor types you will unlock along the ride. The more you unlock the more diverse and amazing it becomes.
I watched the toucharcade twitch play of the game, earlier this evening. It was really fascinating to watch someone (a stranger!) play our game. He seemed to like it, but one of the criticisms he had was that you always have to start on "wave one". However, the truth is that after you've been playing for a while a new "wave one" is much more intense than the first time you play "wave one". It's one of those difficulty tweaks that's happening in the background without being announced to the player. As your rank increases and you unlock more stuff, things get more intense. But maybe we should've made it more obvious? We're going to brainstorm and see if there's some way to make this progress more clear to the player. Your feedback will be valuable!
Perhaps it needs to be more clear like a pop up showing how it works, but I thought it was clear... there is progression as Glorkbot said when you unlock new items (they have a description of whats to come, sort of) and get a higher rank. Glorkian Warrior starts a little bit bare bones but when you have collected some Energy Crackers soon things will spice up quite a bit.
So I think what I'm hearing is that if the game sucks TheFrost is picking up the tab? Right? ....but it won't suck.
I liked it from the first moment I played it, and Glorkbot just kept adding amazing stuff again and again. I can safely fully recommend it and I hope you guys love it as much as I do. Now go and collect energy crackers, progress and try to survive the fun onslaught I bought the game and if I knew my progress was kept from the beta I would left it there and dominated the leaderboards for a while, oh well...
If you been as impressed as you are, I know it'll be great. Just an hour and 20 minutes or so and I can start the fun too!
