Well, that could be pretty awesome. But that might have to be a totally new game. For one thing it would probably have to be fixed screen instead of scrolling, and it would probably have to be vertical. There would have to be some kind of interface/ system for choosing and deploying aliens. It would be pretty interesting. Now my brain is racing with ideas! I love designing video games!!!! That doesn't mean we can for sure do it. There's a lot of other cool stuff we want to tackle. But have you played TriTriTriobelisk? https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tri-tri-triobelisk/id428470159?mt=8 (It's not really the same as what I'm imaging two-player Glork would be like, but it's a great two player ipad game, and it just sprung into my mind as an example of a way of deploying attacks). Or Omium by Nimblebit? Sadly it's been removed from the store, but it's a two player galaga-style game.
No, no, I'm not involved with TriTriTriObelisk, I don't even know the guy who made it. I'm just a fan. Yeah, it's really good.
Just a heads up: we are releasing volume one of the Glork OST next week on the Pixeljam bandcamp. Excelsior!!!
Yap, the new icon might be something to discuss. But what's much more annoying is the new localization thingy, though I confess that this is (going to be) a general problem. What happened to the good old language menu? Now you are forced to hear or read whatever happened to be the translation. And everyone who is just a little into it knows that translations are a difficile business. It's a matter of fact that puplishers destroy their own books cause they just hire the cheapest translator for a so far unknown author, with the result of a book that's actually unreadable, at least not without getting a headache. In the case of games this often means badly translated tutorials, starting from "at least understandable" right through to utterly nonsense. And than there is: lost in translation. Especially when it comes to humor and puns, you often can't just translate. That means, the translator has to invent something on his own, what he thinks matches the situation and the authors intention best. So, if you are into books, you have a clue what translating Terry Pratchett means ... To cut the short story long, dialogues like we have in this game are bound to be lost in translation. And regardeless of whether books or games, and however ambitious the translation might be, a lot of people prefer to choose. Living in another country but wanting to read something in you mother tongue might be a common reason, just beeing able to and therefore wanting to read the original another. [cry] I want to get my old dialogues back!!! [/cry] Btw: I really liked the old icon. The new one is just ugly ...
If you set your device to english (EDIT: I just found out this next part is wrong: and then download the game you'll get the english version, I believe. That might be worth a try for you! Then I think when you set your device back to your own language the game will stay english.) I'm not 100% sure. If it works, let me know!
You dont have to re-download the game to see the english version... you just have to set your device's language to be english and it will work!
Replying directly here... to see the english version you just need to set your device to English. You dont have to re-download the game. We'll try to put a language selector in an update soon.
Here's a new trailer for the game. We just updated with Game Center achievements and optional tilt controls. Enjoy!
Glorkian Warrior made this list of Top 10 Quick Games: http://estugame.com/top-10-jeux-rapides-du-printemps-2014-sur-ios/
Hello, I love your game, but what happens after 20K points. I've done all the achievements? What happens now. How do I unlock more of the story or more achievements?
A little off topic, but by the same dev, are they ever going to release Dino Run on iOS? Really want to play that.
For one week the game will be on sale for 99ยข. To celebrate we're having an awesome fan art contest. You might even win a Glorkian Warrior painting by me (see attached). (So far we only have one entry... so your shot of winning could be pretty good even if you don't consider yourself an artist!) You can find the full contest info here, on facebook: http://on.fb.me/1lwCyZu
