This is a fun game.. at least try it out. You might like it. :)

I would start work on your next game and then go back to work on this one.
Give people some time to find your game and figure it out. Goodluck.

i really want to like this game i do. I tried the button control scheme that the dev suggested to me, which fixed my control gripes, but the jumping is still off. It just feels too delayed. It makes it too hard to manuever especially with all of the platforming in the game. I'm gonna say again that the shooting system is excellent, the jumping just really needs some work.

I can't stand it when I see game characters jumping and they lift straight into the air with no preparation squatting. I will minimize the pre jump in the 1.1.4 update but there will still be 0.1 second pre-jump. I must have it! Oh and thank you for the feedback.

I understand where you are coming from, but it would just make the gameplay so much more fluid if you abandoned it. Wen jumping i feel like i have to be like sliding while jumping and it just feels really off. Some of the greatest platformers of all time like mario on the nes just feel so fluid largely because of the jumping

Ok well I just submitted an update to the lite version to fix the jumping. So when you get that let me know what you think.

This is *exactly* how I feel as well. This game has a lot of potential, but the controls drive me up a wall. I'm trying to think of another platformer on the iphone to give a comparison to what I would consider optimal controls, but I can't think of one right now that gives an example of jumping put to good use. Anyone care to help me out here? I think if you can tweak the jumping, this game will be a lot more enjoyable. I understand what you mean about squatting before you jump...so why not compromise and have the guy squat while the screen is touched and jump when you release your finger?

Also, instead of having the right side controls aim and shoot, and the left side controls just move left/right, with two buttons in the middle for crouch and jump.....why not have all the movement on the left side and two buttons on the right side for shoot and jump? Keeping it to a simple Nintendo controller style interface might work well for this type of game. The aim/shoot on the right side button works really well for games like iDracula, but not for side scrolling platformer like this....just my opinion.

do what bounce on did. the longer you hold the jump button, the higher the jump and time of prejump.
