ActionSquare did an incredible job. My only gripe is after the devs ease you in with the tutorial worlds they throw the player into the “deep end” of the pool really quick. I have about a 50% clear rate on the rookie missions so far. I will keep at it though . Still it’s a fantastic game and if you love action games you should definitely give it a try. I’ve seen the torrent of negative reviews happen with quite a few games at launch when a game is undergoing day 1 maintenance. It may be the smart play on Apple’s part for them to implement a system where users have to wait for the day after launch before posting reviews. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #5 psj3809, Jul 30, 2019 To me it’s kinda like so far a top down version of Shadowgun Legends (ish!) Seems to be different planets to do missions on later. I hope it’s not too multiplayer heavy as I prefer single player. Nice graphics and good gameplay so far Shimm5 likes this. Which I feel is an amazing compliment since Shadowgun Legends is IMO in a league of its own when it comes to first person shooters on the AppStore. ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #7 ramzarules, Jul 30, 2019 am i the only one feeling let down by this? from all the hype i was expecting Soul Knight with the graphics of Implosion and so far it’s been completely underwhelming. the stages are 2-3 small locations, the enemies are either too easy or throw damaging attacks from 1,5 screen away, and the bosses are very telegraphed and dodgeable. Meanwhile (i have finished the boss on the ice planet) not one dropped weapon or armor, just some weapon enhance materials and a backpack with underarmor as mission rewards. The shop for weapons - yeah, either pay premium currency or materials i have not even found one of yet. Tldr: small locations, enemies too easy or too cheap, and nonexistent drops. Someone tell me this changes soon because after the tutorial and 3 planets it hasn’t. JasonLL Well-Known Member Feb 21, 2014 546 106 43 Male #8 JasonLL, Jul 30, 2019 I see where your coming from. I certainly think the enemies can be quite cheap at times and I’m having quite a bit of difficulty on some of those missions. A difficulty balance in both directions may be a good change. You are a bit further along than I am so the lack of worthwhile drops is disappointing. The smaller levels don’t bother me too much but I would welcome having larger levels at times. I guess because of the genre I don’t mind the size of the levels although in other games such as Marvel Future Fight the small stages drove me up a wall. I’m cautiously optimistic since the game is presented so well but there are definitely things I would like to see addressed. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,972 722 113 England #9 psj3809, Jul 30, 2019 I’m early in the game but I’m hoping to see larger maps or just a good variety of buildings and layouts later Nervous of the currency being a major problem I must admit ! scape211 Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2012 318 3 18 Graphic Designer #10 scape211, Jul 31, 2019 Last edited: Jul 31, 2019 Im with ya so far too. I havent gotten to the ice planet, but the game doesnt seem to explain much about gear, drops, crafting, etc or how to get anything. I feel like it has 5 types of currency and I dont know what each does or how to get it. Weirdly complicated. On the opposite side, the gameplay itself feels shallow - easy general enemies, simple maps, auto targeting, simple boss fights. Im sure it will get harder and more interesting, but I honestly expected this to shake out more like Helldivers and I LOVE that game. Closest to that most find on mobile has been Space Pioneer which is ok, but this seemed like the 'big boy' version of that. So far it just smells like classic p2w style gameplay with the aforementioned complicated currency and shallow gameplay. I hope my viewpoint changes though. adamphetamine Well-Known Member Jan 4, 2011 968 31 28 Programmer/3D Modeling Bethlehem, Pa #11 adamphetamine, Jul 31, 2019 The game itself is great with a good variety of mobs and some amazing bosses. The stages/planets are pretty good as well. The one thing that hurts the game is the horrible energy refresh rate, it's one of the slowest I've ever seen. Not only that but it does not refresh when you level. Multiplayer is amazing too. Hopefully they reduce the recharge rate soon. malaheart Well-Known Member Jun 18, 2010 221 11 18 Male Angel Melbourne, Australia #12 malaheart, Aug 3, 2019 thumbs07 likes this. scape211 Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2012 318 3 18 Graphic Designer #13 scape211, Aug 6, 2019 Ok after playing this more I'm pretty hooked. I spent a little and got the best gun you can for Rhea on a lucky pull (Zephyr)! At first this game felt easy and i figured that meant I would hit a wall and have to pay. However, its felt like its far more skill based than at first. I tend to agree that energy can refresh slowly, but overall its been enjoyable. Still feels more shallow than Helldivers, but for a free mobile game its quite good. Lots of playstyles and flexibility. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
