      Ask your friend to go into Itunes and check their Account.

      Click on Purchase History and find the receipt for the game. If it was redeemed it will say so and they MAY be able to see the redemption code for the game

      And just to be 100% sure, when you say you're both from the same country, this means they're using the same country for their iTunes as you are using, right?

      When you say "both countries", it sounds like you're saying there are two different countries being thrown into the equation. But you say you're both from the same country... so that bit of your post confuses me.
