The ultimate control for a platform game is on a real control pad a la nintendo, but this is VERY good and as good as it will get on the idevice. This really is a TOP QUALITY game. One of the best I have played for sure.

I am having fun with it but I must get some sleep :)

Fantastic job by the dev and HIGHLY recommended :) :) :)

Never new what Giana Sisters was until my wife showed me her favourite game for C64 about a year ago.

Got a good laugh when I saw this appear here in the news... but after the video I gave in and purchased it. Great controls (both virtual pad and touch) and great graphics. My daughter will really enjoy it and I have been having a jolly good time in the first half dozen levels.

    Game Impressions

Just got this and it truly is nicely put together, graphics, sound, movement are really smooth and packs in so much for a good price.Looks and sounds pretty much like the original from way back when my teeth were my own.Rarely write anything so as I figure that this is a true retro experience done with style and truly addictive gameplay I had no choice but to make a rare post.
Well done to all involved in getting this to the iphone.

BTW anyone know if this on sale in the UK on DS?

Havent seen it in the stores myself

Apart from upscaled graphics, is there any difference with the DS counterpart?

I've just clicked the "Buy" button :)

With 80 levels this must be a REAL FULL CLASSIC Platformer and not a *******10 level gameloft game.

That brings back memories. It was the disk we all used to fight over in the office full of Amigas we developed Populous on. Back then I hadn't ever seen a NES or the game Giana sisters was a 'homage to' so it seemed all the more like the best platformer ever. This has been out on the DS?, amazing considering it's past.

I love the graphics style too. The way it's completely consistent between the cut scenes and in game.

So which is the best of the original versions to play? I'll be doing that too.

What a bunch of flippin liars!

It's crystal clear to see that the graphics are just a lazy upscale from the DS version, with the foreground being interpolated and the background just plain doubled.

    Will NOT be buying.

What did u expected? Come on, you get a FULL DS game with 80 levels for a few bucks. It has to be the best platformer on iDevices.

Is it the exact same version with the DS one?

You are right. Those minor issues totally ruin the experience. And the fact that it sells for a 1/6 of the price: outrage!

It's tough to tell, because the DS version is available only in a few countries. But from what I've read, it's the whole game with better graphics and additional classic levels.

So the only content difference is the classic levels right?
