Can we expect a sequel to the game? With new levels, monsters, music, features and such? It's too good to be forgotten.

    good question.

it is a pretty obvious thing, yes ;-) but to be honest with you there have been only thoughts about it but nothing more. We are currently working on updates for the version available.

Let's see how far we get and the possibility of a sequel is there.

You need to find better dreams. A dream with the net benefit of $5 (if it comes true) isnt even worth dreaming :p

    Any wishes for sequel ?

    Hey guys,

I completely forgot, if you have any suggestions or wishes for a possible Giana sequel feel free to reply or write me a private message. There are of course many obvious things happening but since you are the users out there I am happy to take them into consideration.

I definately will. I hope for a sequel on the Nintendo Wii, and hire Pikomi again for the marvellous graphics.

    Level 7-9

Can anyone help me? How do you manage to get the first red diamond in level 7-9? Iv completed all the other levels, including the 32 retro-levels. But I cant figure out how to get the the 1. diamond in this level. When you fall down in the beginning you can see the diamond to the right, but I dont reach it. Ive tried to get it from the first well, but there I have problem with passing the number two water. I just keep falling down in the water. Does anybody know if its possible to get over here? Or is there another secret way? Please help!

that is quite a wish from you ;-) but interesting. Yes, Pikomi did great art work.
There is no plan regarding a Wii version yet but just out of interest what would you as a gamer like to see if Giana would jump onto the Wii ?

Please open the retro levels without having to complete the whole game !

Also, in the next one try to make the leaderboards fair. In this game, anyone who plays certain levels over and over can get the high score. So the best players do not have the top scores, it's the ones who play the same level hundreds of times.

Ps: please open the retro levels without having to complete the whole game:)

Well, it's quite hard to tell, what are the plans. A sequel or a spinoff, like NSMBWii? A sequel needs new levels, new features, even new music, and maybe new artwork. A spinoff can keep the style of the game, even some of the levels, but improve it.

I hope you guys don't hate me for this, but I prefer the original Nintendo DS version of this game to the IPhone version, because it had more detailed spritework (IPhone doesn't allow that anyway), and better controls (not a fault of the IPhone publishers again, Giana App is still one of the best controlled platformers, but the original had stuff like looking up and down etc.)

Therefore, I would prefer a Giana sequel/spinoff on a DS or a Wii, which obviously gets ported later for the App store.

As for my ideas, this is all about the creativity of the authors. I think the people who did Giana DS did a marvellous job in many things, although they made a couple of mistakes in the game as well:

One of the biggest mistake was the concept of the retro level remixing: there are 50 new levels for the game (1 is the Title screen, so let's make it 49), and 33 (32 + 8-10) were remixes. The remixed old levels looked perfect on the Commodore 64, because at that time platform games had strictly linear left-to-right levels. However, if you compare ANY of the new levels of Giana DS/IPhone to ANY of the remixed ones, the quality difference cries out loud. Simply the new levels look more natural and interesting, and that's why most people says the game doesn't really start until world 6 (where the remixed ones were completely finished). This idea was good for a little nostalgia trip, but not an outstanding gaming experience, especially for newcomers.

And that's not the only thing, the retro achievement in 8-10 was nothing else, but "dumbing down" the already flawed levels scattered in the first 5 worlds. It should have been a lot better to create a "B" game, and see the retro levels with enhanced graphics/music, like the original SMB levels in the Super Mario All-Stars edition. This was IMHO the single biggest flaw of Giana Sisters 2009.

The other big flaw was the overusage of autosave points. Even the newer levels aren't that long, most of them can be easily accomplished without any single autosave point. And without them, the challenge level would have been much much higher. Just for example try to complete such levels like 8-3 or 8-7 without midsaves. It's nearly as difficult as SMB3 world 8. But putting flowers in every corner devalves all the challenge from the game.

OK, that's about my flaws observation, my ideas will be sent to you privately, no need of possible spoilers here. :p

Why is that so important? It's much more fun to play world 7 or world 8 than playing the "retro levels". And 8-10 is nothing else but 32 levels from 1-2 to 6-1 in a simplified mode.

    Giana Sisters lite version

    Hey guys,

for those of you that are unsure about Giana Sisters iPhone we will bring out a lite version in the very near future. In addition to that the next update and the iPad version are doing very well. I am sure you will like what you get.

    Update on Giana Sisters iPhone

    Hi guys,

you can get your update of Giana Sisters iPhone on the App store now. We have changed many of the things you have written here and all over the internet.

    Changes:
    - put your buttons where you want
    - no more 8th world red diamonds needed for the retro levels BUT you have to play the game at least until the end
    - some little bug fixes
    - some graphic changes here and there

Let me know what you think of it.

I love being able to move the buttons around. However, my game has been crashing when using the fireball. As soon as I touch it I go to the home screen.

    Here No More
    Hi,

Terror, how about you sell your idevice to me for a dollar? :D

Is this not the same kind of idiocy you are asking?

The developer has priced their product according to certain criteria, please respect this.

    David
