hey, i just noticed this new game that came out. checked it out on itunes, and noticed that it implented a virtual-reality type viewfinder. In other words, if you point your screen down, you will see the ground of the virtual graveyard. if you point up, then you will see the sky etc. Looks really interesting. Only problem is where/when to play it (not a crowded area, sitting down, lying down etc.)

what are your thoughts on it? have any of you tried it?

No worries. It seemed like a cool concept, but also looked pretty boring and like I would never play it..:)

If this was made into an actual game, or if they even made the area of exploration bigger or a different theme (like a city or something) this would really be something special.

As it is, you are right. Its something cool, just not something with not much value besides showing off the capabilities of the iphone.

apparently, this game is a remake/rename of the game r.i.p., which got those reviews.

    From Slidetoplay...

    My reaction....

    "Meh."

It's a great idea i guess... reminds me slightly of the game i had on my MotoQ where you had to use the camera to find the fish and shoot them.. With the addition of the accelerometer, that may make the game more fun, but this is kind of the game that is best played by yourself..

yeah i kinda feel the same way. very interesting concept/control system, but not a particularly amazing game in itself. but id love to see other developers use this idea in different games.

There's a pretty cool (and free) app that does something similar, using a whole bunch of photos from anyone who submits them. Same idea - tilt down = look down; tilt right = look right. It's not a game, it's a photography app called Cube World that was one of the very early apps in the store!

So, Hobbes, any goals or missions so to speak of? Does it have a scoring system?

Your goal is to roam around and find ghosts and catch them. You then look for their grave (sometimes a pain) and defend yourself from attacking red ghosts. There is more to be added of course, as a new game, but for $.99, it is a good buy. 4 outta 5 stars if he updates every few weeks. A lot of the "fun" is how you actually play it, as a 3-D world. It has a nice feel. Yes, the scoring system is more time based, as in how fast you can hunt down and return ghosts. If you do get it, read the instructions or you will be lost.

Ghost Buddy is a fascinating game I must say. I wish other developers would use this (Metal Gear Solid for one!) very unique style. In the game as others said, you are in a graveyard but it's all 3D around you! You can literally look up and see the night sky, look to your left and right as if you were in the environment. Very interesting.

I got it because it's free or was when I downloaded it the other day.
