Right now the Beta is much more predictable than the release date. There is a really good chance the Beta will be in January (if not then, February, but I really think I'm very close to done with it) and there will be room for everyone that has shown interest for it on this thread. The Beta will have just about everything, just not in a fully polished state and probably with some bugs that got by me. There may be some final art and music missing, but overall it will look really close to the final product, so really excited to see what you guys think, and get some feedback on what things can be tuned up and polished and what not. Given how the Beta goes the release date could be soon after, or still a little way off. (also, sorry for the late reply, just got settled down after being at my parents for Christmas, a good time was had!) Thanks for asking!

Happy Monday Morning! With some crazy snow and ice weather keeping me home for about a week I got a ton more work done on the game than expected and have a fun update for you all! Everyone who has shown interest in this thread who wants to play will get an invite, we will also have room for others as well. We will also want some fresh eyes on future beta updates as well as we make changes, so there will be room if you miss the first round. It means a lot and makes the whole development process more enjoyable) HEADS UP: This test version will only have the F2P version (which I think is a very fair F2P, the game is designed for people who prefer a more Premium style F2P). IAPs are not ready and I need feedback on if it is too easy or too difficult to earn coins to use premium content. People will get a lot for free on this game as the main game mode is all there. There is reward ads for coin doubling but I haven’t put other ads in yet so you don’t have to deal with those. With the IAP you will get unlimited access to all the bonus content as well as remove ads, that will come in a later version, though there is plenty to do in the current version. Release Date: As most of you know release dates are really difficult to predict (especially for people making games in their free time like us). With that I’ll let you know my thoughts. The core of the main game is basically all there just in an unpolished state. I’m going to take this team to clean stuff up and polish it, as well as make any changes that seem right after hearing back from beta testers as well as fix any bugs that come up. Playing through the current version I already found a few, and am realizing a lot of the sound effects volume levels seem not right. So over the next month or so I will be making changes like that as well as adding in the last items like Game Center leaderboards and getting the IAP working. My brother also has a few songs to finish and there is still a couple animations needed. So depending on how long all that takes and what issues come up in the Beta I'm hoping for sometime in March, but "Spring 2017" is a safe bet.
Awesome trailer, and super excited for the final release! The beta is incredibly impressive and wishing you success with this one. I highly recommend everyone who appreciates classic indie games get on board

Wow! Got a really overwhelming response to the Beta, so glad the game has brought up interest. Thank you everyone who contacted us today! Really cool of Jared to give us a write up on TouchArcade today as well! And Emily over at PocketGamer helped us out. We reached far more than we initially needed pretty quickly but don't worry we are going to get you guys who are waiting in. We will really need fresh players to give initial reactions to changes we make based on the first round of feedback. Any of the people on this thread who I previously promised the beta to who didn't get in, just make sure to send me a message with your email and your TA name so I know. I wanted to give one HEADS UP: there is a chance that changes I make before release may require you to erase your beta version before installing a new version. So don't put too much time into trying to unlock all the weapon skins if you are into that. My plan is to post thoughts of changes and allow anyone who wants to chime in. I've already got some great emails with useful feedback, and (as I did in the alpha testing) I am still getting mixed opinions on the difficulty. I think some people the controls jive with right away (maybe they play something similar on the app store) and some people while they are getting used to the controls have a heard time with the difficulty.
