Hello guys, this happens to be my first post ever here at TA,
I just got to recommend an excellent little gem of a puzzle game called Geomex. Fast-paced similar-shape-finding gameplay, clean and simple graphics - the game is one of my absolute favorites.

Geomex is like ... two dollars or something.

    Lite version

    Full version

Looking forward to see if anyone else happen to enjoy the game :)

    I certainly wish I was.
Used to make simple puzzle games in quickbasic back then, there's where it all ended for me.

I'm aware the game isn't new, it was one of my most-played games many months ago, then happened to remove it and had it installed again today.
And what can I say, I was hooked again. :)

Sorry if I broke any forum rules by mentioning a game which isn't new - it won't happen again!

You did not break any forum rules. :) From the rules. - but please identify yourself as the developer.

It is cool you liked this game so much though. :)

Sorry, I tried the lite version but it didn't do it for me and I'm a big puzzle genre fan. But hey, thats' just me and like I said there's a lite version, so you can make your own minds up.

One thing I didn't mention is that out of the game's different game modes,
it's the one called "Mono Mode" that I've almost exclusively been playing.
Too bad that one isn't included in the lite version :-(
    (At least I don't think so ...)

I'm constantly rediscovering old gems as I just entered the iphone scene in mid February of this year. I was slightly interested in this some time ago and completely forgot about, thanks for bringing it back up to the front of my mind. :)

You persuasive bastage! The Lite version was okay but DANG, I love the huge variety of modes in the full game and how they change the rules with how moves can be chained!

I could do without the "Puzzle Mode" but that's just me. I hate Puzzle Modes in my puzzle games. I'm all about scoring as many points as possible on a randomized playfield, not "how quickly can you find the level's one possible solution" crap.

Thanks again, Redegard, for reminding me about this one (even if I do completely suck at it so far). :D

What you're saying, I completely agree with here :)
Games without a nice endless mode aren't worth it in the long run.
That's what puzzlers are all about (well, actually, fighting a friend in vs mode is even better, but as I haven't got wifi possibilities at my place, it's out of the question most of the time)
You'll notice, LordGek, that when you get a little more used to the game, it will get really addictive :) (then you got to tell me your high score, I'll just try to beat it, okay?)

Great, d/l the free demo now.

I would like to say that I always have some reservations about a game being labelled "addictive". Well, in real life, "addictive" stuff requires you to pay more to get more and more. If you get more for free, I don't think that is very much capitalism. :D OTOH, I can call PathPix real "addictive" because I am willing to pay for more puzzles. (Whichever-god-you-believe-in blesses the iPhone 3.0!)

I know one thing that turned me off a bit in the original lite version, and is still a big factor in the full version, is the very tight timing. You have maybe 5 seconds to find the next part of the chain for your combo. It's great for creating tension but it still hurts when I have a massive (I don't think I've gotten past x6 so far) only to lose it when you couldn't make your next move in under 5 seconds. If that weren't nasty enough, the only way you can earn time to keep playing is by making matches so the ticking down of the clock NEVER lets up in this game.

So while I appreciate the challenge the tight timing creates in this game, for those not fans of TIMED games I need to give you a big heads up.

You're right, gameplay is really tight.
Myself I really do enjoy playing under such stress,
as long as gameplay is good, as in this case. :)

I love the extra added nuisance of log jams in this game!

While trying to create huge chains you also have to be aware of pieces that might be blocking off the free flow of falling pieces and creating big air pockets on the board unless unjammed!

    My Highscores of the moment...

I will list my current highscores per mode with level and ranking (at least when I posted these here):

    Arcade: 80740, Level 6, 152
    Chain:
    Mono: 41670, Level 5, 155
    Puzzle: (not playing this mode)
    Clear!: 24960, Level 4, 124

Look out for me, I'm, surprisingly enough, Lord Gek on these score boards.

I still have yet to break a x9 multiplier.

Oh, that's Nice, LordGek, some highscores to beat :)
Actually the only game mode in which I'm willing to compete
    is the Mono one.
Tried to enjoy the others as much, but simply can't.
Alas, I haven't got any wifi to connect to the global score list, but
perhaps you could tell me what the Mono world record is? :)
I broke the 100 000 limit yesterday evening, plan to double that score soon. Of course :)

I'll give you the Mono Top 10
(All of the Mono Top 10 appear to be held by a "PJH" and are on the 8th level):

    1) 848510
    2) 708070
    3) 698690
    4) 619960
    5) 565430
    6) 531140
    7) 502470 (this is actually held by "J")
    8) 465900
    9) 455200
    10) 381100

If you just broke 100,000 you're at least in 80th place and will need to pass "Franer" at 179280 in 25th place if you wanted to be KING of the 100,000's ("Spense" at 24th place is 237660)!
