Hopefully, RobTop will add that feature in 2.0. If you are trying to make an auto version of a level that has objects barely after the starting point, then it will be impossible to make that level auto without modifying the level itself. Also, I can see this new feature contributing to some seriously "impossible" Demon levels.
RobTop, I heard that you are planning to remove the demon status from all demon levels that have a secret way or are "easy" in 2.0. The removal of levels that have a secret way is okay, since I myself never play anything that has a secret road in it, even if it's star-rated. However, I don't think you should un-demon levels that are easy, as demon levels nowadays are incredibly difficult to complete ( Nine Circles, Necropolis, and the infamous Cataclysm). There should still be some easy levels left for beginner players to complete. What I think you should do is offer a wider variety of stars for demon levels, since they are the most broad difficulty in the game ( Easy demon, Medium Demon, Hard Demon, etc.). Here is what I mean: Easy Demon- Levels like The Nightmare or The Lightning Road- 10 stars Medium Demon- Levels like XStep v2- 11 stars Hard/Very Hard Demon- Levels like Clutterfunk v2 or Theory of Skrillex- 12 stars Extreme Demons- Levels like Necropolis and SuperSanic? Not sure if I spelled that one correctly- 13 stars Impossible Demons- Levels like Cataclysm and Ice Carbon Diablo X- 14-15 stars You might do this differently if this idea gets implemented, but that's how I think it should be played out.
I did this with mirroring; I built it backwards and flipped it. Nice to know that people are playing my level! Hopefully it might even get featured!
GroupID 2 is the same thing as GroupID 1, its just that you can need to add an object to multiple groups (for several sneaky reasons). I might even add more than a two group limit. That would happen if the different saves are out of sync. A level will create a copy if there is a version mismatch. But it shouldnt keep creating new version if you sync back and forth between devices. It's more like 4 months, since I spend the first time creating the Steam (PC/Mac) version and handling all the bugs related to that. But yes, its big ^^ Don't listen to rumors too much, I have no plan to remove the Demon status from older levels. (Unless they have cheat ways or are way way to easy) That block is still active in 2.0, just that I dont have that limit when building levels... muahah The block from placing objects at the beginning was added because players would place objects that made the character crash right away, which looked very buggy.
Robtop, can you check if 3xotic on the leaderboards somehow cheats? he sometimes just suddenly increases a lot in star/demon count, also there are other non legit players there.. also i think that the latest level from glittershroom which got rated insane 9* should be a demon level instead.
Hey RobTop, good to see you around! As long as you are here, can you answer my questions? ( you don't have to respond if you don't want to ) : 1. How will user coins work? I read the beginning of this forum, and you said that if you add the option of user coins, the player can place 3 coins anywhere in the level, and they will be activated when it gets star-rated or featured. Also, will blue coins have their own separate achievements or will they count as normal coins ( for example, 3 blue coins= 1 normal coin) 2. Do you think you will ever add a new difficulty? It doesn't even have to be beyond Demon. Maybe something between Insane and Demon called "Crazy"? 3. Do you think you will ever add a portal that makes you bigger, just like the opposite of Clutterfunk's? 4. How's your day going?
Actually, your idea is similar but not the same. Your idea was a new difficulty between Harder and Insane called Expert. My idea is a new difficulty between Insane and Demon called "Crazy". Plus, I wanted RobTop to see this idea. He only looks at ideas that are within 1 page of his post.
Aww I was hoping for that for awhile now u have a point tho... Btw there is a way to make object at begging with glitches
Oh yeah, you're right. I only read the beginning of your post, sorry. However, I had this idea a long time before you posted it here, it's just that you posted it here before I had a chance to. That seems a little bit too convenient, but it's actually the truth. Plus, I wanted RobTop to see this idea, since the last time I posted my question about new difficulties was around 10 pages ago, and RobTop usually replies to posts that are around 1 page within his post.
