"Epic" levels

Aren't epic levels supposed to be super good? Stuff like Horizon, Reanimation, Toxin Lab III and these levels that will never be forgotten?
Why are these decent levels considered epic?

I used the word decent because, yeah, they're good, but the design is often overused or not interesting at all...

 

this forum is so quiet... o.o it's been 3 hours

and i know you guys've had an 8 hour silence before but still, it shouldn't be happening this frequently

Has anyone played jayuffs latest level? i hope he's not serious about Adiale getting featured levels.

I think epic is for levels that are better than most featured. many featured levels aren't perfect and can be buggy, over decorated etc. so epic fixes that.

 

When was the last time robtop was on? Seems like a while. Also can some one explain the fiery-featured thing around the rating for a level?

You guys, I got a blue death effect from a chest in the chest room! Do you know how lucky I am? That fits perfectly with my icons! I'm so happy check my channel I uploaded I vid of it

 

But when there are plenty of great levels that aren't even starred, it doesn't feel like there is any difference between a Featured level and an Epic level. I guess lucky or something? Just Epic levels should be rare and in instances where the level is EXCEPTIONALLY amazing, not just slightly better than Featured. Epic levels should be memorable. I can't even remember what the Epic level I just played was called (that might be my fault though).
