I bet no, he said once that 99% of Android players got paid version for free. 90% iOS players not payed too. So only 11% payed for GDM
He makes a lot of money from ads in the free version, probably even more than what he makes from the full version if 90% of the players play the free one. That said I'm pretty sure he can live more than fine without any secondary jobs.
Well, if 11% payed for the game, that's about 150 000 people. Geometry dash costs 2$, so he made about 300 000$ from only people paying. Of course it would've been a lot more if all the 1 500 000 payed.
Some People take the game for free cuz they dont want to pay or they cant, the other want to have everything unlocked cuz they give up fast, so we can say that the rest of player are the only ones that payed for the game and want to play legaly.
Quote from an interview: "The super-addictive Geometry Dash has become an iOS superstar and is now spreading to other platforms like Android and Windows Phone. All told, Topala says the game has been downloaded more than 20 million times, across both paid and non-paid versions." So if the game has been downloaded 20 million times the ad revenue from the free version and the money from the paid version must be insanely high, especially if 10% of the iOS player base paid for it. That's like over 1 million dollars.
