On the GD Wiki: "November 9th, 2015: Robert Topala replied to a question , saying that there will not be a demon-rated level in 2.1. He also says he will try to release 2.1 before January 1st, 2016." RubRub strikes again
2.0 has a ton of triggers. 2.1 will have a ton of triggers as well. 2.0 has 1 new orb. 2.1 has four new orbs. 2.0 had new blocks. 2.1 will also have new blocks. Maybe less, but my point isn't 2.1 being AS big as 2.0. 2.0 has 2 new levels. 2.1 has one. But to make up for that, 2.1 has a new particle editor (I think RobTop confirmed it but IDK). If it won't, then there are many new buttons in the editor in 2.1. There were some more search filters in 2.0. IDK if 2.1 will have more search filters, but to make up for that, RobTop will be improving the feature system. 2.0 added some user coins. 2.1 will have diamonds. Or shall I say, "Diamons." 2.0 has like 5 new backgrounds. 2.1 only has one new background and one new ground (I think). Keep in mind that my point is that 2.1 is NEARLY as big as 2.0. 2.0 has a vault. 2.1 will have another vault. 2.0 has a robot. 2.1 will have a spider. 2.0 has a lot of new icons. So will 2.1. Slopes won't need corner pieces anymore, and instead of going, "Select, undo. Select, undo," it will be easier. But meanwhile, 2.0 has a Z layer thingy, and editor layer 2, and a group parent and a don't fade option. There are many new options on the side when you pause the level editor. I don't need to make up for this since the 2.1 editor features I mentioned are very helpful. Anything else? EDIT: Oh yeah. 2.0 has some new enemies and spikes. But 2.1 will have fireballs, lava, and bats. 2.0 had keys and locks. 2.1 will have three new skins for the keys, so that's basically 3 more visual items (one of these is most likely the buttons RobTop said he'll add instead of custom jump pads ).
Well, let's see. No, Rob never said anything about a particle editor, even though there may be one. 2.0 added account pages. Half of the things Rob is adding in 2.1 are basically already there in 2.0, he just has to make some new sprites. Spider is only half a gamemode. It's not that hard (in my experience programming) to teleport a player upwards. The gravity switching is already there from the ball. In 2.0, you could create many of the 2.1 orbs already. Also, Rob says he'll improve the feature system, which supposedly he already did in 2.0 (and personally, I didn't see the difference.) Corner pieces are just a spriting thing. Also, the new buttons are just a convenience. You could already do what everything else does in 2.0. In 2.0, scale-able blocks were added, along with moving objects, which is probably the most notable change in Geometry Dash. 2.1 won't have anything as game-changing as that. 2.1 isn't a very big update. Mostly just spriting and a few new things.
Really? If you don't like what RobTop does then just don't play the game! If you think the update is worse then at least don't complain! and let's see your "experience of programming" make an update like this in less then 7-8 months!
I can see how rob doesn't want a dev team to make the game more "robtoppy" but couldn't he make the features he wants, and just have a team to do the heavy coding work? He could make more money from more new games, and he would make updates to those games faster. So why not?
I didn't say I didn't like the game, and I didn't say I was as good as Rob, but I do have more experience than most people on this forum. I just said a lot of the things are basically already there, and a lot of it isn't really programming, it's more spriting. Also, I'd need a game first to make the update, which I don't have. I wasn't complaining. If you had looked at what I responded to, you would understand why I said what I said.
Well, let's see. The spider teleports, which isn't really hard to do. You change the Y position of the player and flip the gravity (the mechanic is already there with the ball). The new orbs are a convenience, which I get, but they shouldn't be that hard to program into the game, and you can already make them, so they're really a minor addition. I wouldn't say the corner process is stressful at all. I don't see how it could be stress inducing in any way. It might take up a bit more time, but it's still a minor addition that shouldn't be very hard to add in. The buttons being a convenience means they can be helpful, so that comment was kinda out of place. Plus, what will the animation trigger do? Sure, it can change the speed at which enemies are animated, but that's not really anything that'll be used often. It's a very small addition. The new triggers I can see being interesting, but they're nowhere near as powerful as 2.0's triggers. Also, the hide player function will just be used for trolling and adding unnecessary difficulty. Daily featured is a small addition, and it's really not that complicated or game changing. Diamonds are just secondary stars, and the new icons are nothing special. We get them with every update. I never heard anything about animated objects besides the waterfalls, the lava, the fireballs and the sparklies. That's only 4 sprites. And 80k objects? That's expected, we've gotten a boost just about every update. It's nowhere near as big as 2.0 was, and that's my point. There's not really a ton of huge features being added.
(I am too lazy to quote since i already clicked reply) Edenharley, check the wiki. I have edited it with the only info that has been added (from the 19th). However there is a flame war brewing up. Someone please stop this.. Can someone tell me how the heck they manage to stream geometry dash without lag??
Preview How can I improve this sort of bad level? I started using decoration a few weeks ago and I am trying to figure out how to make levels look good. I just want one rated level, as it is impossible to get feature. Also, buckle your pants got rated. http://sendvid.com/mj2prtra
