More and more players quitting every day. I think it's safe to assume we're never getting 2.1. Taking this long is understandable, but not even updating us in a month is completely immature and unprofessional.
How is that immature? RobTop doesn't mean to make this update hidden completely, he's just working on it quite a bit because of bugfixing. He also has a life outside of Geometry Dash too, he can't keep us connected everyday. Also, how would users quitting ruin the process of 2.1, especially when it's an extremely low rate? It's just an update, and it's just users quitting. New users come and go. Plenty of other companies and people have done the same thing (i.e. Valve with Half-Life 3, and Mojang starting to drift away from small updates for Minecraft.) RobTop is just one person, I don't know why expectations are set so high.
You should be glad we have a developer that actually interacts with the community in the first place.
i agree with that, but i still do wish rob would come on the forum a bit more. if he would come on for, let's say, an hour each week, there's no way the time he spent doing that would put off an update's release by more than.. like.. 2 week, maybe? i'd definitely wait 2 additional weeks for that kind of interaction..
It's not so much as we new a sneak peek, even for him to talk to us, like "hey RobTop. How was your day?" "Thank you, I'm having a good day. Still working on 2.1 " "ok RobTop. I hope you have fun developing and not being tortured by being on here by impatient people." Because even if he came on to ask what 2 + 2 is all you do is beg for 2.1 and ask questions he can't answer. GeoDash would be turning into Clash of Clans if we knew everything. Just calm down. 2.1 isn't that exciting anymore to me anyway. 2.0 was my first major update. (1st being 1.93) so I guess I lost my sense of excitement. But oh well. When 2.1 comes out we will be happy but don't be impatient. Find a hobby. Join band maybe ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) or something.
Exactly. I remember before I got into the community, I just suddenly saw an update, and that was really cool. But now when I am in the community, I start to get bored waiting for an update. (No hate)
Go make a whole game and make it's sounds and art then try to cope with your fans, then come back to the forum and say the update should have come out sooner.
I just came here and read the more recent posts but it doesn't look like they are even complaining about that.
Well to be fair, Rob is his own person. Just because others do that, it definitely doesn't mean he does or has to as well. Also, what are you talking about? Release dates are pushed back all the time.
