Sometimes people get a level rated as 3 stars and then change it sneakily in an update. You're thinking of ninety-nine, right? Anyway, 10 attempts really isn't that many. That's only like 5 minutes. There's always going to be some variation in levels, as they are all hand rated. Also, some people are better at some aspects of the game than others, meaning hat what a 6 star level is for one person might be a 4 star for another. If you find a certain harder level too hard, just play another one that you find easier but has the same difficulty rating.
RobTop, a lot of creators on the leaderboards are being forgotten... @RobTopGames A lot of creators on the leaderboards are being forgotten... after you submit 2.0, maybe you can go through all the creators in the creators' leaderboard and feature the ones that are necessary; this is a good way to solve a lot of unfairness. Thanks
Someone a spoiler here? I want to know the release date!! Today? Tomorrow? I'm hype!!! I want 2.0!! Who not!!
hey guys, small question. do you think we'll break the record for the most hyped update? Spoiler if that is a thing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) we'll DOMINATE the best new game updates section in the app store, right?
No, its just a quiet period. Wait until RobTop confirms the subnition to Apple, then it will be loud again.
I agree. The difficulty scaling has gotten out of hand. I just don't care about stars and such (and therefore almost plays no levels) But my friend, who is a relative newcomer to this game has given up totally on playing online levels. They are simply too hard. When adjusting difficulty, you should NEVER listen to the pros, because they will always say "I think it's easy!" ALWAYS look out of the perspective of a new player. If all the new players are scared away this community (and game) is doomed.
I totally agree and the amount of demons that are being made and featured are just insane. About half the new featured levels are now demon. It is actually ridiculous. And these demons aren't how the demons used to be either. I used to be able to get maybe 50% on a 1.7/1.8 demon, but here in 1.9, I can just about get 10%. God knows what 2.0 is gonna bring. It is out of hand now. Look at ZenthicAlpha. Literally all of his levels are demon rated. I don't see the point really.
I tried to tell my friend who is relatively new that newbies should be able to atleast get 68% on his level but he just said: "if newbs can beat my level, then whats the point!?"
I can't even get 10% on most demons now. Take a look at the featured page. Most of the levels are harder, insane or demon now. There's some hard levels, but there's very few easy, normal and auto levels now. I think the problem is (and RobTop mentioned this too) is that if there were more stars on levels, then people would only make them as hard as they possibly could to make sure they got those stars, which is wrong. And the other issue seems to be that many people just want to make the hardest level possible, so that it can become the next trending and memorable level. To be it seems like there's a competition going on inside of GD that is "who can make the hardest demon?" and I think one of the cheap things about those levels are that sometimes, they're not even verified by the creator!! They hand it over to someone else like a pro youtuber to verify and then passed back to the creator to upload. That's just lazy IMO There's one thing that demon makers should know - If you can't complete your own demon, or have to hack to complete it, don't make it that hard. And I seriously think there should be some sort of difficulty limit, where a level should be made below a certain difficulty, so that if RobTop comes to rate them, he can go, OK it's difficult, but completable in under (let's say 2500 attempts for the average player), so it can get stars and a feature of good enough
I think the main thing is, the more you play, the better you get. People like zenthic that have played for a while have gotten good, and I have realized you like to make levels that are equal or above your skill level to challenge yourself. It's not that they are trying to make a hard level, it is that they are trying to challenge themself into making a level that is a challenge for them.
The good thing about 2.0 is that Deadlocked will be the new level and its Demon. But RobTop knows how to create a fair, yet challenging level, so I'm looking forward to what it will consist of. There's no excessive trap usage in his levels, there's a few, but they're managable
I've been playing for over a year now, and yes, the more you play the better you will get, it's just practice. I just thought that perhaps the reason Demons are much harder now is because when someone makes a level, you know the layout of the level. You know what paths to take and where you put a trap. The problem is that other players won't know anything about it and have to learn where everything is, so that takes much more time and more attempts. I guess some of these pro youtubers have better remembering skills than perhaps some of us other players do
