What if the mystery song which nobody knows anything about is called "G-Force"? I know there's no chance of that happening, but anything is possible...
Unfortunately, RobTop already responded to that question on these forums and said that the game will lag too much if that was ever implemented. I see where he's going with that, because allowing for unlimited objects will cause a lot of strain on the servers and will crash low-end devices. :/ At least the object limit in 2.0 will be increased to 25,000 objects, it will allow for longer levels that also look more aesthetically pleasing...
Well I'm lactose intolerant. Anyway, here comes the Big Portal again. Everyone prepare for the debate war.
what does polishing an update mean and how much does it take (sorry been like 2 weeks here and haven't posted that much)
Well in a couple years the technology could be so much better than it is now. It also kinda sucks when you are making extra longs, I have a habit of using a lot of objects..
RobTop, here is a song I recently made if you want to listen to it: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/71523682/ It's only a preview. I'm still working on the rest of the song.
RubRub, what happened to the secret website that you used to have people send you levels? Do you still use it?
I am guessing it means just making small little adjustments. My estimate time would be about anytime between now and August 1st
That is true, but I'm not sure if the game will last for several more years, unless RobTop expands the platforms that are compatible with it ( such as consoles). In any case, technology may be better in several years but older devices ( which most likely wouldn't be up to date with the technology) will still be prone to lagging and freezing from levels that use 100,000 objects. The only way RobTop could solve this is if he put a limit of, say, 1,000,000 objects, and programmed the game accordingly.
Ehh... 1,000,000 is overkill.. For 1.9 I think the max I would ever need is 50k, and for 2.0 I'm assuming it will take up a lot more objects..
Good point. I think it would be easier on RobTop if he gave us a finite but large object limit rather than an unlimited one, because the latter cause a lot of issues within the game, and the bug fixing process for unlimited objects would probably take more time than the actual update. In any case, maybe RobTop changed his mind, since he's becoming more experienced at programming with the coming updates and technology is improving all the time, like you said.
The freezing sometimes happens for me on the steam version if a background window like task manager opens while the game is on.
