They are user coins, any level that does not have a star rating can have the coins but just for fun, star rated levels with blue coins will count as achievements when collected. Max number of coins per level is 3. Hope this helped! (Correct me if any of this info is wrong)
I have over 2,000 stars, but that's very weird still. Although if RobTop has fixed the issue for 2.0, then I will be even more happy for its arrival
It has to with the quantity of the save file, I did a little experimenting and found out that when you have a big save file with a lot of achievements, icons, etc... The game startup is slower, but since Batman made the save file sizes smaller and loading times quicker, the game startup should be faster. so just be patient until 2.0
