As a treat for creators, I think some time in the future, if not already, creators with featured levels should be awarded with something like an icon, another secret, etc.
I think that is a good idea but to give it some value it should be accsesible after you get into creator leaderboards. But still. There will be so jealous people. But after all i think this is good "gift" for people who have gotten into creators leaderboard EDIT: i think one icon/ship/ufo/ball/effect fof getting one featured level and one for getting into creators leaderboards. (Or, top 50)
Hey RobTop! I was just thinking about the profile system I suggested to you in a pm some days ago It would be nice if you could add a youtube link inside this profile, and a button to go into the player's Everyplay account quickly. And you could have a picture gallery of a few pics, a small status box, a "friend" button (which could be used to improve the collab system). The profile could be simple also, I would like it if you could add a more personal touch to your account!
Even with the new collab system introduced in 1.7, along with other players, I agree there should be a bigger social aspect to the game, including, maybe, a cloud storage (paid) where you and a friend could work on the same level at the same time, including, somewhat of a chat. (Or you could just use Skype.) However, I would not at all expect it to be in 1.8, because I know, as a game developer, you often have a lot on your hands and not a lot of time before some fans get impatient.
I had this idea of a profile where you could send friend requests. The person that gets a request has to accept before it counts as a friend. (you can have max 10 friends or something). And when you are going to post a map, you can choose to send it to one of your "friends". When you send a map to a friend, you are also counted as one of the editors. This can also be abused by someone sending a empty map to a friend, the friend finishes it and uploads it - which means that the person who sent the empty map gets free creator points. This can be solved by having a minimum of 3000 objects (something like that) before being able to send a map to a friend.
Look at you bein all smart Viprin # That is a really good idea though ism about the friend limit of Ten. Also I was thinking that rob should add an option in editor to display it in color instead of black and white so we get an idea of what it looks like instead of having to play the level and see if it looks good. And I was thinking that for the player colored objects the game would just read from what you have on your character. And is there any news to when the geometry dash level editor guide will be updated? Because there is no real guide online explaining everything clearly and while you can figure it out by messing around. Things like spaced jumpes with the new speeds usually takes a couple guesses when starting a new level and it gets a bit annoying if you leave that speed and return to it later.
i think these are all great ideas, but it might take time to imploment so it should be done for a big update like 2.0 or something so hes got time to work on it
Hey everyone! Just want to let you know that I read all your suggestions and I will try to get as much of it done as possible. The editor is constantly being improved and I think you are really gonna like some of the new tools in 1.8. I will be working on the social aspect of the game a lot to try and get collaborations working more smoothly. Friends and friend leaderboards etc. are also in the works. Although those things will most likely be in 1.9 since I am trying to get 1.8 ready as soon as possible
Hey Rob I was thinking maybe you could make an object that let's you pulse other objects. For example I make a custom circle for a flying section. I tap on the pulser object place it in the center and set a radius and how far out the pulse goes by pixel (assuming each smallest arrow movement in editor is a pixel) while they pulse you should still be able to get killed. I think this would be pretty awesome and Neptune would make some seriously scary stuff # Also I uploaded a new Level Called Bleached Heart I'd appreciate it if you would check it out, it's definitely a demon and it features names like Aeon, Jabbagrullo, Viprin, and t00tti. Maybe you could double tap a stable ground and it shows where you would land if you jump, and where you would fall if you do nothing? Like you double tap a brick ground that you placed, and it shows three blueboxes - high jump, normal jump and fall and when you do this, the editor searches for speedups that appears before the ground, and it shows how far you would jump etc. when being in speed 2x
