In my opinion, just because it's simple doesn't mean it can't be good. The green orbs aren't anything special, but people love them anyways. Plus, the big portal was a game mechanic that everyone wanted for a long time, and I personally think it would be awesome in the game. Also, don't blame me every time someone sais something about the big portal. I'm just replying to someone else's post, so don't reply to this post with things like, " Hey, G-Force! No more big portals!". I'm just replying to someone else's post, don't take it out on me. :/ Edit: I think my mission to get the big portal noticed by RobTop was a success. After the big portal, I foresee wave compatible blocks...
I think he's talking about an orb that physically pushes you downward. I actually like the idea a lot. RobTop himself said yesterday that he'll test out that orb ( along with the horizontal orb) when he gets some spare time.
Big portal might be a good feature but not in 2.0, the 2 main levels are probably almost finished and i dont think that robtop wants to add any features that he wont use in the main levels. Also wave compatible blocks is not a good idea unless there is a way to clearly see the difference between normal blocks and wave compatible blocks while playing.
it can be good, but i ser a big fail on the orb if it goes directly in vertical, in a certain point the music will start to be sooo off
For cube it might be, but for the ship, wave ( if it can accept that orb), and UFO it would be great. I don't see how it would de synchronize the music, it would be great if used precisely and wisely. There is currently no decent ways to traverse the X-Axis, since anything that gives you momentum such as jump orbs, jump pads, etc. Only let you jump across the Y-Axis. A horizontal jump orb would be really revolutionary, in my opinion.
I doubt he would put it in 2.0 anyway, the idea didn't even catch his mind until I put it on this forum. It took 200 pages of non stop big portal chatting for him to even say, " I'll try it out after 2.0 comes out". It's definitely the most popular feature, though, so maybe he'll put in 2.1?
still in other gamemodes will be the same, thats because if you had that orb you will stop going in horizontal for going in vertical position and then continue, that means 0x speed, so when you hit it can variate the timing, using that feature several times can make music soo off
`RobTop can just make it so that you go horizontally as soon as you hit that orb, that can probably solve many of our problems.
Actually, vertical means up/down while horizontal means left/right. That's why people call the mirror that switches the ground with the ceiling a vertical mirror portal, because it switches objects up and down.
Random idea: animated background. It would obviously be predefined by robtop so its not too flashy, complex, etc...You could also decide when its animated and when its static... The secret BG effect trigger
Remember purple orbs? A few hundred pages ago? It's an orb when touched, it propels you right down to the surface more strongly then just falling without an orb. Can't find a picture though xD
Hey Robtop, Just one question:Why do you don't say us the name of the first level in the update? Or maybe Wateflame(if he created the song,or whoever created it)can release it on YouTube.
Concerning X-axis teleportation; I think the x-axis should be reserved for constant speeds. X-axis teleportation can go so wrong in so many places; and there's no real use for it...
I like the idea X-Axis teleportation, it's pretty cool. Also, I don't see why you think the x-axis should be " reserved for constant speeds", like X-Axis teleportation will break the game. RobTop could easily fix those bugs, so don't worry. Also, Y-Axis teleportation is even more unnecessary than X-Axis teleportation. You can easily use a blue jump pad for pushing yourself upward or downward, or use a gravity portal. However, there is, as of now, no decent way to traverse the X-Axis, so I think X-Axis teleportation would be very cool for the game.
There's no way x-axis teleportation is useful, though. I have some cool ideas for y-axis teleportation, but x-axis is unnecessary and oh god will we see loads of extremely bad levels using it.
