I do have one request, since you asked :) Move the Sell button off to the far left instead of having it right next to Upgrade. I keep hitting Sell by mistake.

And one minor idea that might be tough to implement. I like how the towers stop when they hit the path as you're placing. Much better than having them just light up red and making you manually back off a few pixels! But this could be improved even more: as you slide your finger around, the tower could slide along the path it's touching. (Right now, once you touch it to a path it "sticks" and you can't move it sideways without backing off away from the path. So it would be cool if it refused to cross the path, BUT did not stick. If that explanation makes any sense! Basically, think of what your mouse pointer does at the edge of the screen: it stops, but still glides freely ALONG the barrier.)

Actually, the laser tracking is only "annoying" (I'd say "challenging") if you use the "face upstream" placement shown in your tutorials :) Facing "downstream" as discussed above makes them much more predictable. So there's already a solution in the game.

I also like to put a laser at the intersection of two lines when possible, so it has two possible routes to fire along. Tricky to pull off unless they're right angles, though. (Having the tower appear above, rather than under, your finger would solve that.)

Yeah, I thought about moving that sell button. And I definitely agree about the sliding along the path instead of sticking... I tried that but couldn't get the algorithm right. Something about that is easy for humans and hard for 'puters to do. :/

The tower above finger placement is a definite addition I want to make for the first update.

Tip Time: Some people have wondered why missiles sometimes fly off the screen without hitting anything. Reason: If the target they are tracking dies while in-flight, they go "dead stick" and just fly off and hit nothing. Higher level missile towers have missiles that will reaquire a target (and even loiter waiting for one too).

In the case of those guys... upgrading missile towers does a bunch of stuff. They fire faster, they hit harder, they have a greater splash-damage radius, and the missiles are "smarter" as mentioned above. This super-linear progression makes missile towers, when upgraded, very powerful indeed.

It's amazing how much thought was put into this game.

    I'm truly impressed.

    Thanks guys!

I really appreciate the compliments (and critiques)... this was a labor of love for about 6 months. I focused on gameplay gameplay gameplay. I know it won't hit every mark, but I tried to bring something new... and when you step back and just think about how the game strikes a chord emotionally when you finally figure out how to squeek past a frakin-difficult level.... that's what I was going for!

I'm taking the suggestions to heart for the update... making lists and sorting priorities now!

Question.... in addition to any gameplay features... how many new levels do you all think justifies a release? Is it better to do an update quicker, with say 3 new levels, or work for awhile and pile up a release of say 6 or 12 new ones before an update?

I'd say quicker updates, gives people a better feel the game isn't forgotten and it keeps the game fresh and on peoples minds.

I love this game. There are so many tower defense games on the iPhone, that you have to create something special. This game gets this right. And it's also the first Geometry Wars type of game which transfers the hectic gameplay and explosion stuff to the iPhone - and this in a tower defense game!

I'll post a review on my site, after I played some more hours.

As mentioned by others, I also want to have a double tap mode for tower building and an offset on top of my finger and I hate that I cannot "lock" the lasers.

The winning fireworks are a bit strange, because this is the graphical style you use for explosions ;).

Cool--I like little thoughtful details like that.

I say just update on whatever schedule is easiest for you. (Even a little tweak with NO new levels is still nice for users.)

Fireworks explode though, so it does have a logic:p
And definitely do quick updates. It's like Christmas comes early.

On the next update please show the damage output and firing rate of the towers and also what the next level stats are. THis will help us decided to upgrade or buy a new tower. Now that I beat level 2, the other levels on easy don't seem quite as tough. I guess I just had to get a feel for the game. Now I'm on the level 10 easy.

    Wonderful game!

I made it through the easy levels without to much difficulty, since then I have not completed a single medium or hard level. Somehow I do not get frustrated, I just keep playing...

I am still on the fence about this game. If I know that an update will come out addressing the difficulty factor (maybe making a Noob, Easy, Medium, hard ) or a mode where it is easier, then I would buy it now for sure.

I hope the update for difficulty comes. I've kinda already stopped playing after countless tries on Easy 3. I'm a TD veteran but when Easy actually means super hard, anyone would get frustrated.

Hey I can tell you have worked hard on this app. It is a lot of fun!! I love the graphics and effects when something explodes or reaches the end.. I think it'll reach the top 25 in no time... Much better then the other TD apps and they are all $5!!

I like it. It is fast and challenging.

I've made a video of level 3 "Fort Knots" on Easy. Although I am not very skilled and made some mistakes I won with some lifes left.

(Should be ready in some minutes.)
