I finally beat all 10 easy levels, but I have a question. In regards to the vortex how do you know if popping it is going to to do you any good.
Now look what you guys have made me do. I've had to both buy geoDefense and upgrade to 2.2.1! I'm really looking forward to playing it.
I have an idea about placing the towers with the sliding method. Maybe it's mentioned already in this 250-postings-thread ;-) so forgive me in that case. Dev, please make a virtual loupe like in any iPotch text editor. It sticks on your finger as soon as you slide the tower into the map and has no problem with the display edges: It is always turned off the screen sides (so it changes direction in the middle of the screen). Hard to describe. Please have a look at the loupe of your iPhone's text editor. Something like this maybe a little bit larger. I don't know if the graphic ressources of the iDevice would be huge enough for such a thing. What do you think about that?
Dude, your laser placement is aweful. Put them on the end of straights so they hit all the creeps in a row.
As you can see clearly on the screenshot I've placed three of them very carefully during the first part of the level and they worked as expected. Two ones were just "thrown in" the hectic finale - no time at all for correct placement. When you upgrade them fast then it's not so important where they are - they have an enormous reach. In this situation with just two or three waves remaining I put them "somewhere in the middle where is space left". As soon as the halo goes green I'll lift my fingertip off and go for upgrade upgrade upgrade upgrade... What do you want, Ph4ntom4? I've won that level and brought home six wifes uuhm lifes uuhm lives and almost no money but that doesn't count ;-) What's your highscore on level six easy?
reading your post gave me an idea, for all i know this is the same idea you just posted but here it is: it would stay the same as it is now, drag to place a tower. but you would have a little preview window pop up above your finger like this (white would be where your finger is, the blue tower in the preview is the one you're placing)
That is OK, but I really like how Beseigment does it. When you drag to place a tower, it magnifies the grid. That way your finger only covers the area where the tower will be. You could also slightly offset the tower so it is just above the finger, but will be directly under the finger when placed. Just my .02.
I don't know if this would help anyone but the way i've been playing the game is to focus on building a setup of towers first, not upgrading them one by one as you go along and them upgrading them all in an order after you have a working system. For instance upgrade all your lasers at one time, and them missiles, and then etc. etc. Trying to make a tower upgrade next tower upgrade doesn't really work in this game as well as other TD's...
Exactly. A window or a nice futuresque looking round loupe with a green/blueish halo or something. Above... above... And what happens when you reach the top of the screen? The window or bubble has to change the direction when you drag over the screen. Always turning offsides the display edges.
Apologies, I was quickly skimming and not paying much attention. It looks like most are slightly off. My high score is 3,656,545, I think i finished with all 10 lives .
^^oh yeah true, the reason i didn't say just have the tower offset a bit above your finger was because you couldn't place towers on the very bottom, but i forgot about the top. the preview would switch to the other side when it got close enough to the top
^you drag to connect towers to a vortex tower i haven't figured out how to make the two vortex towers connect to eachother like in that screenshot, though
Okay the upmost laser could have been a bit nearer to the pin... Yes. I believe every word, Ph4ntom4. Great. And you needed 10 attempts while I've hit it with the first one, didn't you? Exactly MoM. Top, both sides left and right, bottom. And don't forget the edges (inner corners). So I think the badge should always "look" or tend strictly towards the center of the screen. And when your fingertip is in the center actually (or drags over it) it changes the direction dramatically. Something like jumping from one side of your finger to the other. I am not sure if that wouldn't be irritating a bit. Be careful with that. It has to be perfect like the rest of the game. So the best would be probably to have such a loupe or window and the option to turn it off. ;-) Turn it on or off with the rarely used Sleep/Wake button Better: Double Tap on the virtual Pause button, or anywhere on the sreen if it's important enough... Or that iPhone photo zoom gesture - pinch fingers together or apart...
Wow! I am having fun with this one. What a challenge! I'm playing the same levels over and over - each time getting a little closer to the goal. As hard as it is, I have yet to feel that the goal is not attainable - just that I need to keep changing strategy. This is a really great overall effort. Nice job!
So far, I'm enjoying this game. Only on level four and ive already lost a few hours of my life xD I love how level 7 towers get a new name (blaster towers become sniper towers and missle towers become photon cannons) and get huge changes in firing rate, damage, and range. Something I've noticed though, is that towers choose their targets weirdly. I think people already noticed that laser towers start firing before they are aiming at the creeps, which wastes damage, and that they often get distracted. I've now noticed that my sniper towers and photon cannons sometimes miss altogether, even if they are actually aiming at something. Is this intentional?
New Video Okay folks, I made a vid on how to beat Medium Level 1. I may be a bit behind the curve... but it's hard to keep up with ya all! See it on: www.criticalthoughtgames.com -- David
I might pick this one up tonight. I'm hoping for the update people are waiting for, but I might get it in case the price goes up
