FYI, for any would-be geocachers out there, the Geocaching app was updated and seems to address most of the issues with the previous update. Bing maps now let you zoom in all the way, for example. They acknowledge there are still some issues, but at least that major one is fixed. It's a great app, too. http://appshopper.com/navigation/geocaching If you've never tried geocaching, you should check it out. See http://geocaching.com In short, geocaching is like a GPS enabled treasure hunt. Really fun, especially with kids, though it appeals to all ages. Also a great way to get your kids outdoors and thinking out of the box. You can do it all with a GPS equipped iPhone (or 3G iPad, I would imagine). The iPhone 4 doesn't compare in reception to a stand-alone, but it works well anyway. It gets me close, and then rest is a hunt, and the app gives easy access to hints, previous logs, etc, which can help you find it.
The recent two geocaching updates are great! Apart from how quickly it saps the battery life using the GPS a lot, but if you're careful you can stretch it out... highly recommended
