I had the same, but heres a nice tip. If you upgrade the lasers two times, then you can double click on them and lock them into a certain direction.
Thanks Landownz! It's good to at least know that it's possible! I still can't seem to get past 7/14 on Twister. I've come close several times but to no avail. Can you give us an idea of how you built your lasers from the beginning? When do you start upgrading? Which ones. Early screenshots would be even better. )) Thanks.
Same here. I think this is by far the hardest puzzle in the game from the perspective that none of the techniques used up till that point work. It's a bizarre level and some of the things move so fast it's almost cheating. The shock towers don't even slow them down reasonably enough. It's sttupid. Anyone smart or gracious enough to explain how to try to beat speed round ii (medium 13)? It would help greatly. I found nobody on the Internet that has a solution for it...
You have to get your shock towers up to a respectable level of upgrade, obviously level 7 is optimal. You are just wasting your time if you are trying to put in a dozen level 2 or 3 shock towers (actually, that goes for ALL the levels), concentrate on getting 2-3 level 7 shock towers, the obvious spot for them being where the creeps turn around. What will happen is you will build up a bunch of missile towers that will fire on a creep, which will be way too fast to hit, but the missiles will follow it anyway. The creep will go around the level until it gets slammed by your shock towers and slow down a ton for a second, wherein all the missiles following it will catch up and destroy it. It's actually really cool to watch a dozen missiles chasing a creep around the level. mv5869: good job responding to a post so old that when he posted it 8 months ago, you COULDN'T double tap a laser tower to lock it. xdavis: Just start on the corners of the longest straightaways obviously. As for upgrading, just make sure you are spending all your money quickly.
Thank you my son, worked on first try. Bless your heart. This kinda opened up my mind to new possibilities.
Oops, the quote disapered. Refering to lvl 13 in hard - "twister". How the hell do you have time to build so many? Im dead at wave 6 or 7.. Should i go for many towers or few but upgraded? EDIT: Nevermind. I finally did it after like 30 tryes.
Mix it up with blasters (many blasters, they should follow the inner ring) and lasers at the bottom, one shocktower to. Upgrade. Then you throw in a couple of rockettowers above the "q-line". Upgrade to 6 only. I dont remember Q to be that hard at all.
Medium 14 - The Q Here's one way. I built the guns along the left of the opening path first, then added a couple of lasers at the top aligned with the vertical path and linked to a vortex opposite the guns. Continuously update the guns, vortex tower and lasers - the vortex tower will draw a lot of energy from the gun fire. I think I also added the laser aligned with the entry path/creep's home path early and started building the lower left lasers after 7 or 8 waves. I did get nailed at wave 14 or 15, but survived. I am sure there are more effective methods, but this worked. Good luck!
screenshot of speed run II The strategy for this was supplied above but I thought I'd give you an example on how it can be done. This strategy is built around: 1. Beginning with the middle shock tower and surrounding it with missile towers until you're out of money. 2. Follow by adding the upper and lower shock tower and the rest of the missile towers. 3. Now upgrade the shock towers to lvl 2 and continue upgrading the middle shock until lvl 7. 4. Now upgrade the upper shock tower to lvl 5 and upgrade the missile towers simultaneously to lvl 4. 5. Add the blaster towers. 6. Upgrade the bottom shock tower to lvl 7. 7. Upgrade the blaster towers to at least lvl 5. This bottom cluster of towers will now effectively kill off any creep getting through the missiles. 8. Now just upgrade the missiles and the top shock tower until victory.
Speed Round II, M13 Here's how I got SR II, M13. Some creeps got through, but this method worked. Basically open with four missiles across the top, then make a stand at the up/down segment with shock towers.
Hard 14, Crazy Straw I can't for the life of me remember how I solved this. Strategy anyone? Edit: Nevermind, I got it.
"twister" players, ya playing the Hard mode or the Easy one? how come you seem have so much money there...
Is it me or since 1.4 certain levels got a lot harder. For instance I'm having a lot of trouble with Angular. I used to able to complete this one with nothing but laser towers. but now I've tried all sorts of strats but get worked when the last two waves come around. So anyone got tips?
I finally beat all levels in geoDefense thanks to this thread, so I want to contribute by posting some of my final setups. Most of the time they are not perfect (I lost some lives), but they worked nevertheless. I had the most trouble with "Gordy" (Medium 2), "Resistance is Futile" (Hard 8) and "Rabbit Hole" (Hard 12).
I mostly had trouble when there were no shock towers available. I actually made it through Angular View the first time I tried it (using version 1.4).
I'm having a terrible time trying to beat this level, I've tried several methods and maybe I'm not getting the upgrade order down but I can't seem to get past wave 14/17. Can someone please help me with the "Q" medium level 14?
If you want the easy/cheapish way, just blanket the entire level in level 1 lasers attached to vortexes.
