I got Boot Camp, and installed Windows, activated it, etc. It was working perfectly fine with no problems whatsoever. Then I got VMWare Fusion and migrated my partition over. Windows then detected a hardware change and is forcing me to reactivate. My activation key doesn't work anymore. It says it's used "too many times". It costs $59 for me to email Microsoft, and I don't want to call. Anybody have any suggestions?
That's just what I was thinking - never heard of that before. If you do have a genuine install disk you should be able to activate it 3 times (somehow, mine's worked for 4), even if this is the case and you've used them all up, just explain the situation and they might be willing to activate it for free, you never know, I have, however, known instances where they tell you that you have to purchase a new disk, but since it's just a hardware change that's triggered activation, you should be ok. Other than that (if you don't have a genuine disk etc) you could probably find something on the Internet to make that activation go away
Umm...yeah. To contact them, they take a little survey about your current situation. My current situation makes it cost $59 to contact them by email .
I would also suggest calling. Though I'm still at odds on how your ambigious situation makes $59 a fee to email. It can't be internet because, well, you're posting here.
