I apologize for not reading all 27 pages, but some of these games I already purchased. Are they still among my permanently purchased content? If I stop the AA subscription, do I still keep my purchased games (like Good Sudoku and SpellTower, for instance?)
The + versions are “enhanced” and separate from the originals. And if you do a search, both versions appear in the results. I think the point is to make these games available for free (or without ads and IAP purchases) to Apple Arcade subscribers — not making them exclusive. It’s like owning a song that’s also on Apple Music.
AA has become very special to me, it has now the best puzzle games I’ve played in IOS history, it’s only 10 games but some of the best ones for sure. With A Monster Expedition being the best puzzler ever for me, starting now an 8th play through.
8 play throughs! I’ve never heard of such a thing. Haven’t had a chance to try this yet but will add to my ‘to do’ list. No idea what sort of puzzler it is but I assume it plays differently each time.
No it’s alway’s the same, it’s just so good never did this with any game, I still need to discover 15 islands it’s very tricky and you need to think out of the box.
I haven't really figured out what I want to do with the + games yet, since they are existing games that already have existing discussion threads and the + versions aren't different in any way. Leo's Fortune already has a massive discussion thread and it seems silly to start up a second one and splinter the conversation. I'm thinking of creating a subform here with a listing of all the + games that get released that just link to the already existing threads for each game?
As I speculated earlier, I think the + games are there to make them available to subscribers for free (or without IAPs/ads). Frankly, I would just in include the AA appinfo to the opening post of the existing thread and put some kind of a mark/note on the thread title.
Great to see all these top picks from the AppStore migrating to Arcade. Most are new to me which makes the sub even better value.
Its funny as its the opposite for me. I have most of these old games such as Leos Fortune so for me its not wanting me to join AA I did notice that they were adding some very old games (which didnt work due to ios14) so thats interesting to see as GameClub are kinda doing that
I was also surprised to see Apple updating older games. I wonder If they were inspired by what GameClub has been doing. Bodes well as presumably all these games will be kept updated from now on. It wouldn’t look good if future OS updates started breaking Arcade games as well.
Yeah sure they wont break, maybe they've updated them in such a way its easy to update them to future versions. But yeah its a good idea having old classics working again (Just as Gameclub do) as i miss so many of the classics. I stopped paying for Apple Arcade but i like the mix of new games (Didnt always like the new game releases) but if more and more old classics are on it and working i would love it Still wish that if someone say pays for 12 (or 24) months of Apple Arcade they could still play the AA games even if they werent subscribed. Cant see that happening but i can dream !
