I just bought Golden Claw, a Corsair for fun but it's actually too OP and is way better than the Odin. And it's really OP against elite enemies which is really useful in secret cargo missions. Why is it so good? -it has really high dmg per hit. (I deal around 2k per hit with 1k dmg gear) -attacks are NOT SLOW, it attacks almost as fast as a starting ship. -attacks penetrates enemies, does not disappear on hit. -ship blocks 1 hit, refreshes in 20 seconds -100% chance emp shots Yep that's right, it's every shot is 100% chance of getting a 2 second stun so the damn mini boss can't shoot a single bullet at me(UNTOUCHABLE). I can now easily beat the insanely difficult cargo missions(I'm at sector 66 right now) without dying most of the time. What's more that it only costs 15 credits to buy it, less than half the price to buy that 35 credit Odin.
So after upgrading to the iphone 6 and doing a restore of a full backup, I lost all my character progress. Is there some data files we needed to move over?
Interesting find.. Definitely going to try this out. I never liked Odin because they look pretty ugly. As for the EMP, do those work with all weapons you equip on your ship (like missiles and such?) or do the EMP only work on your ship's default weapons?
The EMP from Golden Claw (Corsair) only works on its default weapon. But it's enough stun you'll need. I'm at sector 92 and it's still great. Sadly the story after sector 50 only has a few dialogs from the empress and mother every 5 sectors. Wished they added more.
I doubt the golden claw's basic fire is intended to be like that. The other two Corsairs do have slower firing shots that deal a lot of damage but don't stun like an EMP. Both deal 22k crits vs the golden's 9k (+15% attack).
Wow, you are completely right. I can't imagine 100% emp shots are intentional, it's just too good. I haven't lost a secret mission since I bought it. Thanks for the tip! Also, I just upgraded to a 6 and restored from iCloud backup and didn't lose progress.
Hmm weird I did computer back up and almost all my apps came back with their save files. I'll have to try this Golden Claw easter egg. Sounds ridiculous lol. I was saving up for the Raikou but I have to test this out. Btw, I just noticed after the update the cargo costs 2 gold instead of 1 for the special mission?
For what it's worth, I was playing in offline mode (didn't sign into facebook). Maybe I lost the account that way? Edit: Ok I just signed into facebook on my old iphone 5 and it wiped my old data and replaced it with the iphone 6 profile. Looks like your progress is tracked in 2 modes. Offline where it stays only on your phone, and online where it is tied to your facebook/account.
Yeah I think they mentioned that earlier in the thread how they're two separate accounts. I always pick offline for ANYTHING. I don't like being tied down. I would have recommended you copy your files from the old file and replace the new file and it should work perfectly. However now I'm not sure if you accidentally wiped them.
Golden Claw (Corsair) Gameplay Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Equipment in the video: Because of having a lot of armor and life, I can afford to drop defensive parts in favor of more weapons. Two weapons are homing: 2 chains and 3 rockets. Chains seek out enemies jumping from one to the next until its duration expires. Rockets don't fire as often but are still frequent and very powerful. The scatter shot gets the job done firing twice for 175% of my ship's damage every second. As Sikuzo pointed out, the Golden Claw's basic shots have a 100% chance to stun whatever it hits. The rate of fire is still fairly fast and it pierces like chains but does not home in. As you can see in the video, the shots can even stun shielded enemies which means you can lock down elites! You can't stun sector bosses though. The ship's basic fire is probably unintended and may get fixed in the future. But in its current imba state, why not play around with it?
I think they should leave the ship in for fun and increase the cost to 40-50. That'd be fair after all the last Odin is in a way stronger than this ship but for different reasons.
I think I know why I find this game rather hard compared to other shooters. There are so many colorful projectiles that many times I don't know which are mine and which are the enemies. Also there are many types of enemy projectiles that moves at different speeds and patterns but has the same shape and/or color as my own. I find it very hard to advance unless I get a significant item upgrade other than the white common items
Any tips on level 11 boss? Those 6 emo balls are really hard to dodge then I get murdered by the bullets when I'm emp'ed. I saw some guy with crazy deft moves doing figure 8s between the ball and bullets, don't think I can pull that off.
For dodging those balls you dodge left or right then move up to slightly above the balls, then the balls usually won't follow you. Or...well you could practice any way to dodge until you can dodge them. I already beat the game so I can tell you if you can't at least dodge that you won't be able to beat future levels without gears with broken abilities like the gear Echoen has shown a few posts before on this page.
I was finally able to beat it by going all armor and just absorbing the hits. Key was just stay near the center so you're still damaging the boss when dodging. That was tough. After passing sector 11 I breezed right past to sector 16, still going strong on original sector 11 gear.
