Too bad they added ads and IAP, but I'll say this. It was an arguably too easy game, so its quite likely the IAP's are totally unnecessary unless they did a rebalance. Get it for free and see how bad the ads are is my suggestion. Or just play the flash game on the computer - no ads or IAPs But it is a fun tower defense game.
Sorry About this. Hi, I am one of the parties involved in publishing this app. The game is now finally free (this seems to be an itunesconnect issue, other developers experienced similar problems on the day we intended to go free), and it will stay free until the next update due to an occasional crash bug. We also have a problem of showing ads to paying users (system was designed to show ads to non-paying users). This will be fixed as well in the next update. We may abandon ads entirely if many feel putting ads and iap in a free game is too greedy. We are very sorry. This was not intentional.
Everybody has different opinions. I want to try it out for myself. It's back to free and I am downloading it now.
GemCraft As for iap, game balance hasnt changed, and therefore, the game is fully beatable without them. As for ads, we understand it is critical to take them off the game, especially for paying users. This was an error, and we are truly sorry.
Yes, IAP should be a non-issue for folks with your game in my opinion. I beat it on hard with no IAP. Ads on menues for free users are totally customary, ads in game are always bad, even on free games.
Update Coming Soon We just finished sending an update to Apple. 1. NO MORE ADS (sorry about this, especially to paying users who got it by accident) 2. Its to late for me. I dont buy it, that you accidently put ads in to paid costumers. It was your rating drop that made you regret it. I will never buy anything from you guys again. You think were stupid? Greed can backfire. Just be honest about it.
Really an Accident IAP was supposed to show to everyone, even paying users. Ads really was not supposed to show to paying users. We had an external server checking when you made the save file, if the save file was made for the first time during the free campaign time, ads were designed to show. However, this did not work for some people, we dont know why and we are very sorry about this. I can see how some people may feel we are not telling the truth about the ads, but if you look at our reviews, we only have 6 complaints about ads (we have roughly 200k users). I hope that helps you believe that we are not lying.
