I don't consider one year to be a long time. Software that only works for one year is pretty seriously flawed.
For something which is free and allows you to install a ton of great games i wouldnt complain too much. Again its a years time, i'm sure Riley and co will be able to sort something out by then (Or there'll be a hidden GBA emulator or something). Either way its a years time. The profiles normally only last for a year, the fact hes got it working on so many devices is amazing, its not like he can just have it in the app store 'normally'. I wouldnt say what young Riley has created is that 'flawed'. I totally appreciate what hes created.
Ha ha. You knew it was only going to live for a year but you still got it ! I'm sure in the upcoming year there'll be something Riley can do 'or' there'll be a hidden emulator at some point. Every year i've been into iOS gaming theres been a couple of hidden emulators every year. Relax, the kitten i'm sure will be okay !
I cannot install GBA4iOS, it won't install unless it's the current date and when it's the current date, yeah you get the idea. Apple made it significantly harder to move the year back.
Yes. And I have no idea what RoboWarrior is talking about. It took me less than 5 seconds to set my calendar back and get GBA running again after I installed the update.
Works fine for me, too. Although switching off 'set time automatically' did not do anything untill I turned it on and off twice.
Oddly enough, I didn't even have to set my date back and I was connected to wifi and cellular the entire time
Actually, after the provisioning file expires, you can still open the app by setting the date back.. After that, open the app and don't close it from the multitasking bar.. Set the date back to the real date, and if the date is past 8 feb 2015, just open the app from the multitasking bar, not by clicking on it.. I've tested it and that means you can use this forever.. The kitten will live forever
Previously you could change the year but Apple now only allows you to change the date, currently not a problem but trying to install the game in 2015+ (assuming a new version isn't to be made) would be a pain in the ass. Also still can not install the app on iOS 7.1, any help would be appreciated after getting a replacement device. And yes I did set the time back before but it won't allow me to install. The GBA certification is in the setting though.
I restored my phone yesterday, and i had trouble installing, but heres what i did to make it work: These first two are maybe not required, but its what i did so may have am effect: Delete the gba4ios provision thingy Set date back Then: Click the download link on rileys site Nothing happened here, so i put the date back to auto and got the install popup - so i installed with date on auto Then i set date back opened app and voila
Looked in the past few pages and didn't see anything, but I had upgraded last week to iOS 7.0.6 and hadn't run this since. I know I've done several reboots, but when I went to open it today --- without setting the date back --- it gave me a pop up box saying something like "Are you sure you want to run GBA4iOS...". Clicked yes and opened fine. So I'm now wondering if I will ever need to do the time trick again.
The year can be changed just keep scrolling back through all the months till you pass January it will go to December of the previous year and so on, I have tested this and it works. I am currently running 7.0.6. Should work in opposite direction too although I have not tested going that way yet and have no idea of date cycles on 7.1 because I have not tested or installed it yet.
I meant there use to be a "year" scroll bar but now there is only "days" and "months". Of course scrolling back days would work but in a couple of years, that might be a pain to get the app working after a reboot.
So I tried downloading it, but it's not installing. I tried changing the date, changing it back, removing the provision... nothing is working. Did I miss the boat on this one?
