Really enjoying this, playing some classic RPGs that I missed. The cherry only the cake would have been icade support but no probs
Game Impressions I'm very content with this program (except that the dropbox feature doesn't work and I really want to use this on both my iDevices). However I have one question. What have users' experiences been like with 1.6 or whatever the older version of GBA4iOS was? I have a friend with an iPad2 and she's reluctant to upgrade to iOS 7.0 for this and I don't blame her since 7.0 is known to have issues with older devices.
For my part, my initial comment may have come off like butthead #789 on the internet. I'm really not. But I do think we should be able to express a criticism. That doesn't mean I'm trolling the dev, or unappreciative. By the same token, people with jailbroken devices or android phones or tablets in addition to their iOS device may want to know how it fairs in comparison. I'm certainly not trying to discourage others. If you are on iPhone or Touch, this won't even be an issue. And otherwise it is fantastic. I've had 0 compatibility issues. The downloaded is one of the smoothest I've seen. I love the UI. The lack of filters wouldn't be an issue of my goal was to pair with an ios or DualShock controller and play platformer a and action titles. But I primarily play strategy and RPG games on touch-based emulators. Super Robot Wars, Tactics Ogre, FFVIA, Onimusha Tactics, etc. You do a lot of reading, and smoother text helps. Way before iOS7 was smoothing out iPhone apps, I was using RetinaPad for exactlyt he same reason. Just my "opinion." I contacted Riley on Twitter regarding filters. He said that for some reason they didn't work as intended, muddled the visuals too much. He may look into it in the future, but right now of course he's focused on the Dropbox issue and launch support.
I found compatibility to be very low. Most of the games I tried didn't work, though mileage will vary depending on what she is looking for.
I guess you're talking about 1.6, right? I'm amazed with 2.0 compatibility. It's fantastic, even though I read in this thread that there seem to be issues with Super Mario 3.
Nifty little download but I can only hope the success and popularity of this will somehow bring me Dosbox for non-jailbroken devices.
I "synced" Dropbox but all my games in Dropbox aren't showing up or any of my saves. Do I have to have all of the files in Dropbox not in a folder?
I've just updated to iOS 7.0.6 and the emulator is still working fine. Gridlee and Remote Files (SNES) too.
Does anyone know where I can get a realistic original GameBoy skin for the GameBoy Color, or any realistic skins for the GBA?
Just like with most forums you can't list/ talk about other rom sites. Let's be sensible please. Square Enix won't be happy if people are openly posting a link to the best site to get a rom for final fantasy x etc
I'm not sure about iOS7 on an iPad 2. . . But about the older versions, I don't think they are anywhere near as good. They didn't run 3D games (like Mario Kart). And to play GB and GBC games was a real pain in the neck. The newer version of GBA4iOS is better in every way. . . . I've been super busy this week, but so far the emu has been running everything like a champ Really really impressed with this.
Yeah, syncing is working, and I can see where it saves games. BUT, my old emulator would save games as their title in a .sav file, like Metroid-Fusion.sav. And I tried copying and pasting those files into the right folders, but nothing's working. Does this new emulator read .sav files, or will it only read .sgm files? Just wondering because I've got like 30 hours of Mario Golf. But if I get to start over again, I'm going to be doing it with a smile on this sweet new emulator! Thanks for any info!
