I'm on my iPod so I can't get a link (hopefully one of you can Google the title then copy/paste), but apparently some gay people protested Avatar because there were no homosexual characters in it. They did this by standing up during the movie, sitting in the lobby and not leaving, and best of all... Buying movie tickets and not attending the movie. Discuss. I'll start it off by saying this is the stupidist thing I've ever heard, and if someone stood up in front of me during the movie I would have punched them in the back of the head.
That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Are they SURE that none of the characters are homosexual? How can this be verified? That Chopper pilot looked kinda butch to me.
That's pretty stupid, especially since no one ever verified if all the characters were straight or not. Even if there was one, it would be "offensive and unnecessary", plus there are more of us then there are gay people, so it's not like every ship has a gay character on it. Do you want us to add one so you can be offended and have another reason to protest the movie? Edit: That has to be a joke, honestly, that was the stupidest thing i've read all day.

Hi, Did a little looking around for more information on this before posting, the link below looks to be the source for this protest. http://stopavatarmovie.blogspot.com/ Now for my take on this. I have family and friends who are gay and have been of the opinion that if you are happy, that is what it is about. Now to this protest, this is just about some blogger wanting to publicize themselves and came up with a novel way of doing it. It is so much bunk that they would take and use this movie as a publicity stunt when it really has nothing to do with a cause. The person who started this should feel ashamed for coming up with such a lame stunt to publicize a blog. Hopefully this will stay on topic of why protest at a movie that is not controversial instead of a discussion about Homosexuals. Because, in the end, it was publicity for a blog, not about a cause. The blogger picked the biggest movie and figured it would give the biggest source of publicity. David
haha this is basically saying Avatar should be taken off for the racial aspects. They believe people in the future will be blue. WTFFF!?!?! NO!
