i disagree, controls have not hampered gameplay at all, respond well and are intuitive. if you are willing to sacrifice some level of detail you'll be more than happy. this is the first gta open world game on the iphone, despite all the hype i'm still really impressed with what gameloft has done.

Well that's what I'm saying, why sacrifice anything? There are plenty of games on the iPhone that don't make sacrifices in order to make the game play well. If I wanted 3D open world, my first port of call would be a machine that doesn't make quite so many sacrifices.

No, sorry. I haven't played it yet. I was basing my thoughts on the impressions of others and how they seem to confirm my fears from the screens/videos I've seen so far.

I've played enough of these open world games (starting with the original GTA well over a decade ago) to know what to expect at this point.

This game is great. Which driving controls do you guys prefer? It's the slider stick for me.

Yeah, but those games that don't make sacrifices are not GTA-like games. I think there's room for games that people want to relive on their iPhone, even though they aren't 100% natural for the iPhone. Otherwise we'll all be playing Gangstar: Draw lines to combine gangsters in this time management game. :)
