If you are quick and don't spend time doing nothing, you could prolly finish in less than three hours, I have a feeling I prolly spent seven or so. You really never have to drive around, kill a few yakuza's at the beginning and gather some Uzi ammo then roll with it, just entering missions and races through the pause menu.
This game just grew on me and now i'm just marveled on how Gameloft set the bar on this one. I can't wait for Modern combat but this game will keep me busy for a while.
Just bought this game and I love it. The graphics are awesome and the gameplay has been fun, just don't love how control is handled all by the left stick instead of two sticks like most games. Anyway how does the game save? Autosave when you exit or after you complete a mission?
my problems with it are A: when using the control stick for steering, it centers where you first touch it. try this: accidentally touch the horizontal stick somewhere left of center, then try to turn left by sliding further left. your finger will hit the edge of the screen before your turn reaches 'max left'. then you have to lift your finger and hit that knob right in the middle, which will cause you to slam into a wall during races. if you touch the left side of the stick, the car should instantly start turning left, not center there. B: small gripe: you drive to tisha's house for a mission, watch a brief c/s, then it tells you to get a car and go kill someone. so you turn around and your car is gone! the missions jack your cars. why? otherwise solid game. could use some collectibles or guns littered about tho... something to reward exploration
My biggest gripe are area that're open during missions, like roof tops and fenced in areas that are closed during free roam. And that the sniper can't see far enough away to make any sniper positions worthwhile.
I like the game and is a great achievement for Gameloft but 1 thing I hate, there is no challenge. I had other Gameloft games and they make great graphics and sound but the gameplay/difficulty/A.I. is always zero. I guess they try to make the games more casuals but eye-catching but a hard mode will not hurt the games. I will continue the strike with Gameloft games that I broke with this Gangstar
Making the game even easy. You need a car? Just go to options and pay for it. Need health or guns? Go to options. In a update they will sell an option to see the end credits I guess
Or you could just jack one for free. Although I find that some of the cars just keep on going when you are standing right in front of them and they run you over. That really pisses me off when I have gangs/cops chasing me. So I usually try to find parked cars. I don't see the point of repairing cars either. Why not just jack a new one? It's a shame that there are no pay & spray's around. Instead you have to collect those stupid little badges which are usually in the most arwkward of places.
How is amassing money in the quadruple digits in a game that awards you between 30 and 70 bucks a kill "easy"? Completing entire missions to get HALF of what the cheapest car costs isn't easy, either. It's completely pointless. At first I thought once you drop that amount of money for the "rental", that would mean you'd always start with that car, until you destroy it. It'd make a LOT more sense.
You are right about that and about the 1 million achievement but at the same time there is no need to buy cars and that million achievement I don´t think is fun to go for it so I will pass. I say is ultra easy the general gameplay and story, just that money achievement and to find all botiquins achievement is hard but not fun
Drive in a car with your left side against something (Open on the inside, like a gate) and while you're driving fast, press the button to jump out of the car, you roll out, and you're inside the place.
I'm thoroughly enjoying Gangstar, despite its flaws. I like that the cars will run you over 99% of the time, makes the game a little more interesting and daresay, realistic. Ever tried carjacking someone on the freeway? Good luck! Features I'd like: - Guns/Items scattered about the encourage exploration; - More delivery missions (vigilante missions while inside the police cruiser would be awesome, or maybe ride VIPs to their hotels while in the limo?) - Achievements for the delivery missions. Or is that in already? - BIKES! - More densily populated city, even if that's a feature exclusive to us 3G S owners (tough luck, cheapskates ) - More levels of police reponse. SWAT van/team would be a nice addition, blocking the road too. - The ability to buy property and vehicles and store them for later use. Building up your character's possessions would definitely make us keep coming back for more. - The ability to customize your character by buying clothes. This would also increase replay value, as eventually you'd want to own at least a few different outfits. I've been just screwing around in the city and the game still have my attention. Usually after a few hours doing that in GTA4, I love interest and don't play the game again for MONTHS.
Im sure that will happen soon. This game has so much less content than GTAIV but then again, its portable so the longevity of it might be longer.
obviously this has less content then GTA IV. If you ever thought this game would have more then any GTA game then you need help.
