did anyone notice that in races you can actually drive by your opponent, destroy his car and comfortably cruise to victory and earn some easy cash.
1. an Ipod touch is smaller than a ds or psp 2. Ipod games are cheaper 3. Ipod has greater functionality in regards to accessing you music quickly 4. the safari browser on an Iphone is way better than the browser on a psp/ds 5. Games are instantly downloadable and easy to browse and access on an ipod
Gameloft is in a conspiracy with Apple to force peoples to buy the new and shiny iPhone 3GS. They make good game, too good for old gen device, so if iPhone/ipod player want to continue to play they progressively be forced to buy the iPhone/(Futur iPod) 3GS. On the 3GS the game run at 40 FPS without ant freeze
yesss lol i tried that straight away and it worked, i thought it was gonna say mission failed or something but it didnt
@dominator I have a 1st generation iPod Touch running 3.0 (Though not jailbroken) and it runs perfectly fine. Sure, it sometimes slows down a bit when I'm driving at top speed in that black fast car, and crashing into a bush and car at the same time, but it's barely noticeable. The only reason I'm getting a new device in September is that I'm running out of space left.
yeh im going to upgrade it sept for more space and because the 1g touch is outdated p.s. in chapter 5 missions start to get pretty difficult
The thing is, the 3GS should be able to run this faster while looking prettier. Not that I'd get one in order to play this, I still think the previous iterations of the device were criminally underused. I mean, the PSP only has 32 MB of RAM and only a nominal GPU. Yes, the CPU architecture is very fast for a handheld, but still, the previous iPhones and Touches should be able to match it. That's what happens when you place all your hopes on indie devs. You get good, cheap, sometimes even innovative games, but no real expertise. No financial risk, no glory, it seems.
Yea it's a bug I noticed too, if u start the race without reading the dialogue, the game forgets to disable all weapons, and wen it does disable the weapons, wen u win the race, ur weps disappear and u have to get them again... It sucks wen ur far in the game, have been spending all ur cash to rent cars and get more ammo , then bamm!! Forced to restock on everything.
What fun can you have with teh plywood glitch? Isn't it just walking around normally on a green flat land?
well, the jumping out of the car glitch works on a lot of places. such as plywood, railings, gates, buildings, etc.
Gameloft should definitely add some paid DLC to this game. Actually thinking about it, maybe thats why the entry price is so low? There's so much stuff they could add in such as: More vehicles (motorbikes, open top sports cars, lorries, buses, tank, helicopter) More weapons (grenades, flamethrower, sawn-off shotgun, katana sword, baseball bat, machete, chainsaw) Mission packs (think Lost & Damned/gay tony for 360) Multiplayer (Paul@tag suggested an idea for cjs was online deathmatches in the city - how sweet would that be in Gangstar!)
online with gangsta would be so AWESOME! even tho that would make the game sell so, so much better. i bet it wont happen
+5 for great ideas. I figure in the next big expansion, they could also add another island to our playing field. They should also add a day/night cycle. I know Gameloft wants to preserve LA with the late afternoon Twilight Town feel, but it would be cool if the gangsters on the streets were aggressive at night. And I think there should be mini expansions like the ability to play pool or basket ball. I hope they do expansions.
My friend decided to get this because he likes these types of games. However I wasn't really impressed by the game. The controls are just alright needs a long time to get used to. I think it's just average and no where near what Big Albie claimed: "Gangstar has developed a near console-quality game with beautiful graphics, interesting characters, and even a decent storyline that combine to deliver the immersiveness you’d expect with this type of game."
really? i find the controls very good. the driving took a while to get used to tho, i ended up using the stick controls. if u mean driving, try using that if your having trouble and yes +1 for day/night and multiplayer
Do you actually play iPhone/touch games? If you have played games like BiA or TS from Gameloft you should accustomed to these controls. Most of us of here are. Its just like when FPS games started coming for PS2/xbox - you had to get used to the dual sticks.
i still can't believe that the first free roam game that i ever played in my entire life was on an ipod touch....
